In the version Im thinking of Richard cant get the throne back from his Brother. Exiled is probably not the right Word, just the one that popped into my head first.
Ah. Well Henry and Eleanor had many sons and Richard wasn’t the original heir. Henry 3 (often called the Young King) was but he died around 1183. There was quite a bit of bickering between Henry 2 and his sons, Richard being an experienced military commandeer, and someone who took after his mother–Eleanore of Aquataine who had the excellent habit of calling armies against her own husband (one of my favorite ladies in all of history) of course Henry also threw her in prison but you know–these things happen. A lot of the fighting often dealt over the land of Aquataine itself which was INCREDIBLY rich. Richard often looked to help from Philip the 2 of France, a very close, ally and really Richard became his fathers heir AFTER they defeated Henry 2 in battle and John agreed to let Richard have the throne. And then Richard was crowned and decided he didnt’ really want to rule England at all cause he liked fighting so much.
