fic prompt: killian tries to make a romantic dinner for valentines day, and has been cooking for the whole day. and even though the finished food is terrible, emma is a reassuring girlfriend and eats everything on her plate 🙂
“So?”
His voice was almost pleading, his brow raised, blue eyes wide as he tightened his fingers around his fork.
Swallowing, her eyelashes fluttered – slight tears forming – as she forced the dry, charred meat down her throat before meeting his gaze with a smile. “Great. Really good-“
His face tensed, concern flickering across is as she began to cough lightly, “Emma – you can be honest. I can take it.”
The little whine in his voice said otherwise. Placing her silverware down, she reached across and took hold of his hand. “Seriously, this is great. I mean, no one has cooked for me in a long time-“
“Tink said it was custom, in this realm, on St Valentine’s feast day to do something…”
“Romantic?” she suggested, tightening her fingers, her gaze falling on the simple vase of daisies in the middle of the table.
“Aye,” he replied, eyes dipping down to look at the two plates of charred steak and still raw broad beans.
Softly sighing, she pushed back her chair and pulled him into a standing position. Happily, he obliged and she wrapped her arms around his waist and ran her fingers over the bones of his hips.
“You know what else this day is famous for?”
“You know I am new to these customs Emma…”
With a wicked smile, she let go of his waist and pulled down her shirt neckline slightly, just giving him a hint of the scarlet lace underwear she had purchased especially for the occasion.
“Well, this was unexpected,” he reached out and ran his finger over the space where skin and lace met, “You know I think I’m beginning to rather like this occasion.”
Circling his neck, she pulled him down into a kiss, before whispering in his ear, “Come on pirate, you’re not much of a cook but I know somewhere your skills are very much in demand-“
Dinner forgotten, she hauled her pirate off to her bedroom and Hook decided he didn’t like Valentine’s Day.
He loved it.
