Since I am clueless about all of the tech stuff, can someone post a gif of the scene right after Hook makes his comment about Emma being “Captain Swan” to her yellow bug vessel?
What I love about this scene is that she tries to smile but it is this weak little attempt, then she slowly raises her eyes to meet his and as soon as she is looking him in his eyes she gets the most heart breaking, depressing expression to her face. It’s awful!!!! Her face just tells you that THIS is the one person she is dreading having to lose and it is more than she can take.
Compared to the goodbye she gives to Neal “Sorry that you end up having to go back to the EF anyway – bummer . . . alrighty then, see ya!”
And since Neal has been all about the regret he has about not telling Emma he loved her and how it is the biggest regret/mistake of his life and he HAD to get to NL to save Henry and tell Emma he loves her (which he never did). Perhaps THEN would have been a stellar opportunity to say a quick no pressure “Love ya. You take now.” I don’t know how much more clear they could have tried to make it – they didn’t even have him give her a “family”/friendly “love ya” which would have been perfectly appropriate considering she told him she would always love him (because they are “family).
