Thank you for all the lovely things Eala!
And that post obisgirl, I enjoyed that.
You’re welcome!
Guys, do you think that A&E automatically assumed that everyone would love Neal? Because of Baelfire. I’m just wondering, I’ve seen some arguments indicating that.
Short answer? No.
Long(er) answer?
- The very first time we saw Neal we were shown VERY CLEARLY that he had received a postcard
- The second time we saw Neal it was in an episode where Emma was interacting, in the present, with her True Love, and how Emma’s relationship with Neal destroyed her ability to trust
- In that same episode, Neal told August to send him a postcard if Emma fulfilled her role to break the curse
- He didn’t go after her
- The image we were left with was of broken Emma, in jail, holding a positive pregnancy test
We saw what the writers wanted us to see. To think otherwise is to deliberately fool yourself. I’m pretty sure episodes, once they’re written, are carefully examined and read by other parties other than the ones who actually write it to gauge reaction.
This is a VERY skilled team of writers, one’s that make us love Rumplestilskin, Regina (BOTH mass murderers, one a RAPIST even though i love her) and if they can make us love the villains, they can make us love Neal, who was once Bae.
They don’t want to. Remember, before season 2 started, Adam and Eddie contemplated making Neal and Baelfire two SEPARATE people.
I just wouldn’t be worried, it’s pretty obvious now (except to a small portion of the OUAT fandom) that Emma and Killian are TL. I’ve seen TL gifsets with CS included get THOUSANDS of notes.
Hakuna Matata 🙂
