Neal is a series regular. I like him a lot, and I like Hook a lot and feel they both have quite a bit of depth to their stories, that goes beyond Emma. I don’t like everything they have each done, but that’s true for most of the characters in the show that there’s flaws and strengths, and a journey ahead and more story to tell.
Sorry, just looked it up and saw that he was promoted to regular for season 3. I feel like we have a lot of Bae’s backstory/youth, but with Neal, we don’t really know anything about him. For instance, in the first scene of Broken he was wearing a suit and it looked as though he was coming home from work. But what does he even do for a living? And how was he able to just drop everything and come and stay in SB? I’d just like to know more about him. I don’t hate him or anything. But he is a boring character to me – his adult self has no real depth. We know far more about Hook 🙂
