Hopefully, “surprising” means that Neal agrees with Hook, it’s not about them. It’s about Emma and what she wants. You all know I don’t like Neal but seriously, he will win a small amount of respect from me if he realizes that the best thing for Emma, is to let her choose. Hopefully, that’s what the spoiler means.
I’m actually hoping for more than that – I’m hoping that Neal will “throw in the towel” to be honest. The only way for him to grow as a character would be to accept Emma’s choice in Hook, which is fairly obvious by now, at least to me lol, and to hear what Emma said about moving on, because she has already started to. He’s been paralleled extensively to Rumple and the only way to break that cycle would be to make that choice – to let Emma go. And that will be the “surprising” element.
