To me, if Emma really wanted to have another shot with Neal or still loved him ‘romantically’ (because there is a BIG difference between loving someone & being ‘in love’ with someone IMO), the sentence structure would have been reversed- ie- something along the lines of ‘My secret is ‘I was hoping you were dead, because you hurt me so much, but I love you, I will always love you’ – to me that say’s ‘you hurt me, but not enough that I cant get over it, as my love for you is stronger than the hurt’- the 1st part might be true, but it’s the 2nd part that is actually the truth (I would have honestly been VERY worried for CS if they had worded the “I love you” as the but).
Me too!!! Agreed 100%. It’s all about the framing of the dialogue.
And kinda like that, I have an example: I was a tad anxious when the kiss sneak came out and there was no music. I knew when the episode actually aired that no music = not TL. BUT IT HAD OUR THEME SO ZERO WORRIES. 😉
