I hate how a few people who are beyond rude & horrible to the wonderful people who are giving us this stuff to love in the first place are making us ALL look bad. I’m sick of seeing it everywhere though. It was worded badly, it was meant to refer to the loud but vocal minority of fans that ARE rude to them, and now everyone’s having to do massive PR work to make up for people who are losing faith now, even though they had answers in 3×03. (Why people are still yelling at Adam and now Lana for saying HQ is unlikely and now Michael Coleman for saying that SQ would be staying as fanfic is beyond me – I thought ALL of that was already made clear, for sure, after 3×03 when they said we’d know who Regina was supposed to end up with but apparently people skipped that episode or have way more faith in it even though they’ve said all that they’ve said.)

NOTHING excuses hate from anyone though. You can express sadness without being rude about it and no matter whether it’s ever going to be canon or not, you can find something good in it to love and spark creative endeavors like fanfic, vids, graphics, whatever. Those things don’t just disappear because the show wasn’t written with a gazillion different versions, individually tailored to all of us. It is heartbreaking when something you really want doesn’t pan out the way you hoped for and I’m pretty sure everyone knows what that’s like from one show or another. We’re ALL invested heavily in our ships. ENOUGH ALREADY.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they stopped interacting so much on twitter. There aren’t enough positive messages in the world to drown out one horrible comment that will stick with them forever. Nobody deserves that.
