From and-I-will-win-it:

I did a re-watch on the Pilot today and Mary Margaret, as she’s instructing her class on how to build a birdhouse, says:
“As we build our bird houses, remember what you’re making is a home, not a cage. A bird is free and will do what it will. This is for them, not us. They’re loyal creatures. If you love them, and they love you, they will always find you.”

Obviously, this was meant to be about David and an ode to their family motto: “I will always find you,” but I was hit with sudden Captain Swan feels for a couple of reasons…

As we build our bird houses, remember what you’re making is a home, not a cage. — Killian has always loved Emma unconditionally. He’s done nothing but support her and be there for her without asking for anything in return. He has never tried to trap her or tried to win her heart with trickery. He’s been the most honorable man in his pursuit of her and in doing so, is laying out a solid foundation for them and the home they’ll build (are building) together. Furthermore, “cage” reminds me of Neal being in the cage in the Echo Cave, which symbolizes how Emma feels about him and her past: trapped. In short, Killian = home, Neal = cage, and I mean, holy *stuff*, talk about feels considering everything that happened in 3.11.

A bird is free and will do what it will. This is for them, not us. They’re loyal creatures. — Emma’s last name is “Swan,” which, HELLO, is a bird, but one of the most interesting things about swans is that they are loyal creatures (also, a nice little ode to David because if you want to talk about loyal, you’re talking about Prince Charming) because they mate for life. This is another interesting point because Emma was loyal to Neal, he was the only man/person she ever let in and loved with her whole heart (until he broke it into a million pieces and she shut the world out again). Then Henry came along, and her parents, and now Hook, and with her walls crumbling more and more and her allowing love back into her life, I think it’s safe to say that when Emma lets people in and loves them, she’s going to do it with her whole heart. Additionally, you know who else is one of the most loyal characters on this show? Killian freaking Jones. How’s that for a coincidence? (Spoiler: it’s not.)

If you love them, and they love you, they will always find you. — The end of 3.11. That’s it, that’s the paragraph. Okay, but also…Killian found Emma and now she’s the one that needs to reach inside of herself, tap into her belief and faith, and trust him again in order to remember him and essentially “find him” back. I mean, this is what these two do, they are loyal to each other to the ends of the earth and they will always find each other. That is the biggest freaking parallel to Snowing aka THE True Love couple of the show. I’m not saying, I’m just saying.

Killian, to me, will always be for Emma and she will always be for him. They were written PERFECTLY for each other and again, I cannot fathom a Happily Ever After that does not have the two of them ending up together. What the writers have established, and are continuing to establish, is that this love story, goes SO FAR BEYOND even the True Love that Snowing has — it’s literally THAT amazing and deep and it’s absolutely befitting the main character’s genetics because the product of True Love, Emma Swan, deserves nothing less than the most romantic love story to ever exist.
