Part of me agrees and part of me wonders if you can ever fully trust someone who has tried to kill you so many times.
If it were me, I wouldn’t be able to. It’s just that within the context of the show, I reckon they’re gonna have to have people come around to trusting her again to a certain degree. FTL rules apply here, not real world. If we were playing by real world rules, Regina would have been locked up and had the key thrown away ages ago, but things work differently in FTL, people relate to each other differently, disputes are settled differently.
One more point, the idea of a man influencing her. This makes me cringe a bit because it almost sounds like she Regina has no agency and can’t change unless someone is there directing her. This was the MAJOR issues I had with “We are Both” where it many people started to claim that Regina was only the way she was because of her Mother and Rumple. But that’s not true. In the end, she chose magic and power, even though she didn’t want to become her mother; she became Cora, right down to the heart collecting.
Oh, I agree, each of Regina’s bad decisions and evil deeds is ultimately on her own head. When I say she’ll have a man there to influence her, I’m just saying like, if someone’s an addict, you don’t expect them to be able to drag themselves out of that dark hole and get better all on their own. And with Regina, there’s really no one who she could lean on for that type of support, because even if it was offered genuinely, she wouldn’t believe in it. She doesn’t trust the Charmings any more than they do her. She’s been to Archie for help before, but that was before the incident where her mother kidnapped and fake killed him, so I can’t really see her confiding in him ever again. Henry shouldn’t be burdened with having to be his mother’s emotional rock. That’s why I think the new guy is gonna be the one who she’ll come to rely on.
