I don’t know about that Hocus Pocus movie, but trios are a significant trope. We mentioned before the fates as 3 spinners, as it is the old Greek myth. Moirae . Now I wonder if Bae’s friend Morraine was not BF herself? Read on in there they talk about people dying in battle remaining as shadows in the underworld. I know someone RG? talked about the Odyssey in relation to Rumple’s story. Disney owns a few properties that reference these archetypes at least indirectly. “The Moon Spinners” though its an offhand thing there, and the reference is only explained in the novel but it is to the greek myth itself. Disney did a very awful rendition live action version with Haley Mills in that 70′s era. The novel though is by Mary Stewart (who wrote that Merlin trilogy I suggested on another thread The Crystal Caves). Could tie back into Ruby of they ever get her on, both with Wizard that made her cloak, child of the moon, I don’t know. Just coincidence though. Disney also had the rights to The Black Cauldron which was based on The chronicles of Prydain, a classic novel by Lloyd Alexander, itself a bit of a remix of welsh myths but includes in The foundling, most notably three spinsters who who take in a small boy . There is also a norse incarnation, the norns. This version brings in a magic tree, Ygrdissil. There is also that fairytale The Three Spinners someone brought up that sounds very like The Rumplestilskin origin fairy tale too. Something is for sure going on with them!
OMGoodness! LOL! I should read the entire thread before I start replying. 🙂 I just posted about the Moirai. The name is also connected to the movie Hook and the book series Wheel of Time. Great minds think alike. 🙂
