The spoiler got released when it did because the PA tweeted about having heard that someone was gonna die. Once that info was out there, Adam and Eddy had no choice but to confirm or deny it officially. I do think they’d have released the spoiler before S3B started anyway, but they probably would have saved it for an ad campaign that would have launched maybe a couple of weeks before the show comes back. Just enough time to get people, (the general viewership who see the TV promos, not just the online fandom) worked up about it and generate some momentum to hopefully boost the ratings for the first ep back. I can just imagine the promo, dramatic music, “Before the season is over…one…will…diiiiieeee,” with dramatic individual shots of the cast and each one fades to black. But they got beaten to the punch when the PA tweeted about it.

I don’t think it’s the same person, I just don’t…….. I don’t believe that any of the major actors would be that unhappy as to make his or her misery blatatnly obvious to everyone nor do I think they’d leave their trailers like a trash heap. I don’t think it’s the same person, frankly…….. Back to some older posts, RG, I agree – this is a huge black cloud hanging over the season. I think it was a terrible mistake to release this. Yeah, you want people to talk about your show, but you want them to be EXCITED AND HAPPY for it’s return, especially when you’re already losing viewers at a rapid rate. This sort of manipulation of the fans tends to turn them off. Jenna, I don’t think it’s an unhappy person who’s leaving, but let’s say it is. I can only really speak for Emilie, but she was extremely underutilized on LOST and she never left. Her character was written out for 1 season, but eventually came back. I DO at times (even now) wish that she would leave because she’s an actress – she should work and – but of course I want what she wants. She’s clearly extremely happy being on the show; she adores Belle, ADORES Rumbelle and loves Bobby….I think if she wanted to leave, A/E would find a way to send Belle away without killing her, without ending the Rumbelle story, in case Em wanted to return. They love her, even if they don’t love Belle. There are plenty of people who don’t think Hook’s a hero……I don’t, I don’t even like his arc (I don’t buy it). I think his death would make far less of an impact than Belle or Bae, the only two other people I can see dying. So, if it’s for story purposes, it has to be either of these two…..anything to make Gold suffer more.

The ironic thing is that if the reason why they did release this spoiler is because of what the PA said, being that she never said it was a main cast member (and they did), a few theories would have been thrown around, but then the matter would have just died out on it’s own. It would have been in the back of a lot of minds, but would have never taken off like it did when A&E spoiled it. One an theorize they took “lemons” and made them into “lemonade” by using the leak to manipulate their fans into becoming a buzz machine for the show, but I don’t think there were any lemons here. They poured gasoline on a flame when news of the upcoming death was released, and turned that flame it into a bonfire.  A&E are seasoned professionals. They are too smart to goof up by not forseeing the consequences of news like this. That’s why I do not believe this was in any way, an accident. On their part, or even possibly, on part of the PA.
