Fate has been cruel to almost ALL of the characters, yet few reach her level of evil acts. I’m not sure what you are trying to say that “life need not have conspired against her!” Not true there’d be no story in that! I guess you’re concentrating on the set of choices she gets, and I’m looking at what she actually picked, because I note her set of choices wasn’t so limited as to be no choice at all.
