I agree with all the posts that it is difficult to completely empathize with Regina.

First, Daniel pleaded with her to tell her parents.

Second, she knows what evil her mother is capable of.

Third, you really can’t trust a young child to keep a crucial secret. (I know at our house my daughter reveals everyone’s Christmas and birthday presents within five minutes of being told the secret surprise). Or at least Regina should have be more clear with young SW that Cora was that evil. And as many have mentioned, Cora really manipulated a very naive SW into spilling the beans.

Finally, at least at this point, SW doesn’t even realize that Daniel is dead, so it is rather unfair of EQ to hold such as grudge against SW when the girl doesn’t even understand the repercussions of what she had done.

It does seem obvious that EQ has totally shifted all the blame to SW when it should really have been on Cora. I can only say, Regina may have had a moment when she mentally snapped (when she lied to Snow that Daniel ran off) and has never been able to be rational ever since.

Still, the way the story went, it was hard to end up compassionate for the EQ. It’s strange that the way the OUAT cast & crew built up this episode, they all seemed to hint that we would truly feel for the EQ. Unfortunately, it was not nearly the same as the heart wrenching conflicted feelings about Rumplestiltskin that you get knowing his back stories with Bae and Belle.
