I feel for the shippers. I know how this feels.

But…A and E really did write themselves into a corner.

True, I think Robin and Regina started out with lots of potential, but the writers didn’t do a good job in the delivery. I really liked OQ in 3×12, and I loved the whole message about second chances. I saw a lot of potential there, though I thought their relationship built up a little too quickly for Robin and Regina. It was frankly too soon in the series for Regina to get her happy ending.

Then the deal breaker for me was when we discovered Marian had died at Regina’s command. It was one thing when I thought Marian had simply died in childbirth, but that was pretty much hard for me to believe that Robin Hood would’ve chosen to be with his wife’s murderess (even if she had reformed). Talk about artificial drama for the sake of drama.

Then Emma brought Marian back, and if I were Regina, I guess I’d be heartbroken too, though it’s hard to apologize for saving Marian’s life (something Regina did when she saved Marian from the snow monster). I do feel badly for Regina having to lose the second man she’s ever loved, but after Marian returned,  it was just a jumbled mess, for which I blame the writers. There could be no “winners” from this situation.
