Hmm. My headcanon is that she hurt him in her persuit of power.
My new overall headcanon is this:
–long ago, Jafar’s sister died in a tragic accident for which he took the blame
–This fundamentally changed Jafar and turned him evil
–Jafar wants Cyrus to change the past so that none of it happened
–But by doing this, it alters the course of history and the RQ and Knave never meet
–So the RQ wants Cyrus to make the Knave fall in love with her after Jafar has changed the past
