This is the license plate of the outsider. I believe I know who the outsider is, but I’m still wondering about the meaning behind th plate.
Some things I found on quick google searches

    2k- 2 kilometers
Kfl- many libraries have the intials kfl – potassium floride
    Fl- flordia
138- strange number from what I found on Wikipedia, it has a lot of weird factors and such, there is a highway in Maine as well as Florida with 138

That’s all I got from the Internet searches I still don’t know the true meaning but I’m open to theories

    [adrotate group="5"]

Keeper of Swanfire's dream catcher, the Blue Fairy Plot Device, the contact name "Her", the lanyards, the trigger, the Netherworld room and necklace, Charming's quote on Thanksgiving, and PP's pic of Henry

I’m not sure if that combination of numbers and letters mean anything. The one thing I did notice is that he’s from Pennsylvania, so Neal is out of the question.

As already mentioned in a couple of other threads, this is the interpretation that makes the most sense to me thus far…

There was a bit of a discussion in the Initial Reactions thread for The Outsider about the license plate on his car, and I just remembered this thread was here, and the info fits perfectly. Hopefully the other posters don’t mind me copying and pasting their thoughts in here. It was some cool stuff that shouldn’t get buried in the other thread, and I didn’t wanna take credit for other people’s input, so…

Ok…have to rethink my logic here and bet 2kfl 138 is a reference to Peter Pan…

I agree. One interpretation of 2KFL 138 as a vanity plate is “took flight”

Good thinking! There have also been theories that he could be the Wizard of Oz, who is another character who “took flight”. I’m more inclined to the Peter theory though, (even though part of me would still love Bae to be Peter).

After reading this, my first thought was, “It’s a shame that last digit is an 8 because the MGM movie The Wizard of Oz was released in 1939.” Then I remembered (and confirmed on Wikipedia) that MGM bought the rights to the story and began production in January of 1938 – “Took flight in 1-’38” : 2KFL 138

😮 Nice detective work there! I’m now officially seriously considering the Wizard theory for him. He doesn’t really strike me as being old enough, but I guess we don’t know how time works in Oz yet and/or if/when the Wizard came back to our world.

Edited to add that I was just poking around on wikipedia to see if there was a Pennsylvania connection to Wizard of Oz somehow, considering that’s the state that was on the plate. L Frank Baum, author of Wizard of Oz, his father’s name was Benjamin:

Benjamin Baum was a wealthy German American businessman, originally a barrel maker, who had made his fortune in the oil fields of Pennsylvania.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L._Frank_Baum#Baum.27s_childhood_and_early_life

So unless and until someone can twist that license plate to relate to something else, I’m putting my money on Ethan’s character being someone Oz related, if not the Wizard himself.

This might not mean anything, but it was a front license plate we saw. However, PA only requires that a car have rear plates.

Nope, it was the back plate we saw. Car landed nose in, rear out. I watch a show on the tube about air disasters. Did ya’ll know there was a flight 138 that went down in 1974. Dunno if it means a thing but thought I’d bring it up.

Why not bring it up. I think the H& K love plane crashes. 😉

I thought so, but I could have sworn the screenshot I saw was of a front bumper…headlights, and no tail lights. The lights were definitely white, and not red. Can an accident knock a car into reverse gear, and not just knock it backwards?

To save the dispute – the plate was on both sides of the car:
    Rear view:

and then we get a shot at Rumple’s face, probably looking at the car, then a zoom at its front:

Neal might not have had a car of his own, but he knows how to get one when he needs one.
