Or, we’re all overthinking this and Owen really could be someone else entirely as I already pointed out! Would be interesting if he actually is a Young Greg, but we’ll have to wait till the episode airs for confirmation.
Hahaha maybe. It is pretty easy to over think with this show when you learn how complicated it can get. Similar over-thinking happened a lot with LOST. 😛

Fans have a very active imagination. Honestly, the fans come up with a lot of theories that could have turned out better than what we actually got. I recall Eddy and Adam even responding with “Wow! Why didn’t we think of that?” when talking about fan theories they’ve heard of.

I am a nerd at heart.

That link doesn’t work for me get a message that they are stealing bandwidths.

Although RumplesGirl and slurpeez108 make great points about how it’s unlikely that Greg (Owen) was able to leave town without his father, but I think Regina looks very sinister in her Mayor’s office with the heart on her desk. I’m guessing it’s Graham’s heart and that either Greg or his father catch her with it. It’s possible though that she commands Graham to beat up possibly do more than that to Greg’s father since there’s that one scene of Regina speaking into the heart, and then the other scene of Graham beating Greg’s dad up. I don’t know how she would expect to keep custody of Greg even if she offed his dad, but it’s Regina so who knows what’s going on in her mind at the time. Maybe he runs away after she kills his dad, or he and his dad leave the town after seeing Regina with the glowing heart, which ends up breaking her heart because she had become attached to Greg.
Regina totally gets busted with that heart, which must be Graham’s. Or maybe they don’t see her with it, perhaps she looks up like that because she hears them coming, (assuming that Graham is gonna haul Kurt in there kicking and screaming). If Kurt is an adult outsider, suspicious of the goings on in town, then he can’t just be sent back out into the world, he’s a threat that needs to be neutralised, either by killing him, or tossing him in a cell under the hospital. If Owen then ends up back out in the real world, I’d guess that he has to run off on his own, because Regina would wanna keep him.
Now, if we assume that Greg is adult Owen, on the one hand, it would explain why he’d have been searching for the town. On the other hand, it would not explain his chipper, excited demeanour, if this is a town where he suffered the trauma of losing his father, and then he ran away from there because he was terrified. He should be angst ridden to be back if that was the case. If he’d been given some sort of memory wipe by Regina, using some of her small stash of stored magic, then he shouldn’t remember the place to look for it in the first place. (Sidenote: I’ve been hoping Owen wouldn’t be young Greg, so will spend the next week driving myself crazy, trying to pick holes in any theory that he is, even though it’s a totally viable and likely theory. 😛)
March 12, 2013 at 1:26 pm #179331RumplesGirlKeymasterIf Owen loses his father in a very traumatic way, after losing his mother in a traumatic way, at that age, couldn’t he block out the memories? His mind would actually “erase” what happened to him. And maybe Regina did have a small hand with some of that erasing.
I think it’s interesting that Regina hasn’t been made aware of Greg at all. She’s been so wrapped up in Cora that I don’t think she knows that there is an outsider. Since they love parallels in this show, maybe she finds out this week, just like she finds the two outsiders in the past during the first week of the cure.

(sorry, I’m still amazed with the casting on this show lol). I wonder if in this confrontation at the well Regina finds out who Neal is. I was disappointed we didn’t get to see that last ep, but I guess a lot was going on. The next pic shows Henry hugging Emma, so maybe Regina makes a move that completely alienates her from him cause I didn’t think he’d be running into Emma’s arms anytime soon.
March 12, 2013 at 10:24 pm #179456chexmex325ParticipantHoly crap I just had a thought!…what if Regina REALLY did find Charming on the side of the road and he didn’t just magically appear in the hospital. In one of the pics it looks like Mary Margaret is seeing him in the hospital for the first time. Maybe there’s this accident with that guy and his kid that leads to the road just outside Storybrooke (going off the title card in another thread and spoilers about a car chase). THAT’S when she finds Charming and she’s all surprised because she thought he was dead…or something…idk. So many theories! Gawd I need this episode naow 😆

I hadn’t even thought of that, and I love this theory! Actually getting to see Regina finding Charming on the side of the road would be neat!
March 12, 2013 at 10:29 pm #179461RumplesGirlKeymasterThe father and kid (Kurt and Owen) could have run into Charming’s body and felt they needed to go into town to inform the Sheriff about the almost dead guy on the highway. Charming was so injured in FTL, so near death, that when the Curse hit, he wasn’t healed but left almost in the exact same circumstance. It could explain why Kurt and Owen are going into town.
