Like RumplesGirl said, ABC would have to be crazy to cancel Once in only its second Season. Even with the decline in ratings, it is still one of ABC’s best performing shows. Almost all of ABC’s new shows this Season bombed and got cancelled. They won’t cancel a show that continues to do fairly well. Not to mention we’re finally getting some merch out of the show outside of just the DVDs/BluRays: the magazine, the novels, and the comic. ABC wouldn’t be investing in all of this if they were going to cancel it this year, nor would they even have the spinoff. Replacing it with a spinoff wouldn’t make any sense, because why make a spinoff series of a cancelled show?

If you read press release blurbs from ABC that mention ratings, they rave about how well the show is doing for them. They wouldn’t talk like that if they’d given up on it and were axing it. Everyone involved with making the show is passionate about it and wants to see it continue. And it will.
