One idea that I can get out: how did Emma manage to keep the yellow bug for ten years after stealing it and going to jail? My guess: it was the Mysterious Man’s (Baelfire’s?). We know he has a thing for collecting older items and in the stills for this episode – looks like he’s in the back seat when Emma’s pulled over and then moves to the front. I guess I’m suggesting that Henry’s dad was sleeping in the back seat (probably living in his car) when Emma decides to steal it and that’s how they meet…

That’s a really good point! Even in True North, when Henry shares the pumpkin pie with Emma to sort of have this memorial for the father he thinks is dead, they are both leaning against the yellow bug – which is probably the one thing Emma has kept from Henry’s dad. (I guess she couldn’t tell him that without getting into her troubled past…)
When Bae (I know I should keep referring to him as Mystery Man but…can’t. Think-fill in Mystery Man if it’s annoying anyone) shows up to Storybrooke can totally see him finding the yellow bug parked somewhere and approaching – only to find Henry sitting in the front seat waiting for Charming.
Could it be as simple as the Bug was in a Police auction and Emma just went and purchased it as a way to remember her relationship with Bae, I mean Mystery man.. .
in True North, when Henry asked Emma if she had something of his dad’s…she said no. Was she lying about the bug? Or maybe they stole the bug together so it was never technically his. Or maybe he stole the bug so it was never technically his. Or maybe Emma stole it by herself (which is what it looked like in the promo.) Many possibilities at the moment. 🙂
I also wonder if the pumpkin pie thing is true. Or if we’ll see the origin of the women’s bowling trophy in Mystery Man’s apartment.

Really want the pumpkin pie thing to be kind of true. That was the one fact about Henry’s dad I assumed was true from the story… Seems like kind of an odd detail to add otherwise. Fireman makes sense given the proceeding fire and everything but why lie about a pie preference and make it a playful obsession for the man. Telling a brave 10 year old that his father was a hero was probably enough to satisfy Henry for now..
To add to the idea that the yellow bug is a symbol of the Emma-Bae-Henry family unit – in Price of Gold, Henry is hidden in the backseat and pops up when Emma start’s driving after Cinderella/Ashley and makes her jump (he was supposed to be heading home). Didn’t remember it until I was rewatching tonight but it’s pretty much how I’m expecting ‘Neal’ to reveal himself Sunday. 😀

Keeping my fingers crossed that the Baelfire episode is coming up after the break soon, or perhaps they just contacted him to let him know when to keep his schedule free because I imagine with recurring cast members, they might have to ask them months ahead of time if they would be available and if not when could they be available for shooting. (Of course, the poor boy spelled theories wrong, which made me cringe, but I saw that his mom corrected him. 😆 )
