For Once Upon A Time episode 3.05, the guest role of Liam is being cast. He is 35 and British, with dark hair. He grew up an orphan but is now the captain of a Navy ship, and is well-liked and respected by his crew. Also, the potentially recurring role of Devin is being cast. He’s 14, has been one of Peter Pan’s Lost Boy for many years, and is very competitive.

Pretty sure this is a young Hook and the man who made him a pirate.

If he’s a pirate, he could stuck in Neverland, too, since there are allusions made to other ships in Neverland in the finale.

After D23, I’m like 99.9% convinced that 305 is a Hook episode, and they said that we’d learn how and why Hook came to be a pirate so I’m inclined to think that Liam is part of a flashback and is part of Hook’s past."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 13, 2013 at 10:39 pm #204768RumplesGirlKeymasterLiam could be Hooks father, who is a part of Hooks backstory. Hook mentioned him in the last episode of season 2, that his father left him too, like Rumple did with Bea.
Agreed, definite possibility.

I’m certain that 3×5 will be Hook’s backstory. I think Hook told Bae the truth about his father abandoning him. So, I’m in agreement that “Liam” is a pirate figure and potentially Hook’s actual father, and the one who turned Killian into a pirate. Also, I think Devin could be a younger version of Killian Jones who went with Liam to discover new lands, and that maybe Hook was even a Lost Boy in NL (could be a flashback).

If there’s a 14 year old boy in this ep, I automatically wanna say it’s YoungKillian. But how would that potentially work with the t-word?
If we’re going with the ages they mention, and it’s Killian and his father, then Killian was born when his father was 21. If Killian has been in NL for a long time, not aging, how does that match up with us seeing a 35 year old father? When Killian was 0 years old, his father was 21. When Killian was 14, his father was 35. But the 14 year old has been stuck at 14 for some time in NL, and if this is the ep where we see how Killian became a pirate, and if this 35 year old guy is the reason it happened, I’d imagine them to be in scenes together. So I don’t think it could match up that the kid in NL could be the 35 year old’s kid? I don’t even know if this paragraph or my math makes any sense?

Just to throw it out there, it could be Liam is Eric. My hookriel hopes say “noooo” but some people like to imagine Hook’s mother is Ariel.

August 13, 2013 at 11:57 pm #204788PheeParticipantLeaving my Hookriel bias aside, one of the issues I’d have with Ariel being Killian’s mother is that it would relegate her story to flashbacks, which I think would be a disservice to the character. We’ve had K&H say that Ariel will be in NL, which implies we’ll be meeting her there in present day. A very likely candidate to be playing her is 34 years old. If she was Killian’s mother and alive in present day at age 34, then we’ve got another parent/child relationship where they’re almost the same age, and that’s already been done, and it’s something that makes Emma’s relationship with her parents unique, so I dunno that they’d do the same thing with someone else.
August 14, 2013 at 12:07 am #204791RumplesGirlKeymasterYeah, I don’t think they can do that to Ariel. My Hookriel feelings aside, Ariel is the most asked for character since this show began. Everyone wanted to know when Ariel was going to be on Once. They aren’t going to reduce her to a flashback character. She may not play as large a role as I want her to play, but she will be more important than that.
