Okay, here’s my theory:
Devin and Liam are the same person. In the description of Liam, he grew up as an orphan. Who are Lost Boys? Boys who have been abandoned, they are lost. Devin grew up a lost boy but at some point, stopped being a Lost Boy and came back to fairytale land to become Liam, the Navy Captain.
I think this is a really good theory. And then Liam either fathers or adopts a young Killian and raises him, teaches him the sailing trade and then for some reason abandons Killian, though I’d wager not by choice.
I just hope that if this Liam guy does end up being Killian’s father, that the character’s name is actually William. Because only the first and last letters of those names are different. Though that would mean there’s no Eric, or Davy…but still, William and Killian just go so well together.
My headcanon still tells me that Killian is Eric and that Liam adopted Eric/Killian.

Eddy and Adam also hinted Will is more than a mere knave and that his background will be revealed. It’s probably just a coincidence, but you never know with E&A. There could be some overlap between OUAT and WL.

The only potential glitch I see in them being the same person is that Liam is a “guest role” and Devin is “potentially recurring”, which sorta sounds like Devin is more likely to be in present day, and Liam is a one shot in a flashback?
My headcanon still tells me that Killian is Eric and that Liam adopted Eric/Killian.
I don’t even know what my specific headcanon is anymore. There are too many fun ideas floating around right now! The spoilerphobes are missing out on lots of fun. Though they don’t get as many headaches, so I guess that’s a win.

Totally hadn’t made that connection. They’ve said that the Knave’s story leads back to FTL, too.
Total crackpot theory:
– Liam is a captain of the Navy. The doll that Rumple was crying over in the 3×1 clip looked to be wearing a blue coat, the kind that a Navy captain would wear.
– Devin is described as a Lost Boy. A lot of people have been speculating Rumple is a Lost Boy. What if Devin is Rumple in a flashback rather than Killian Jones?

What if 3×5 is Rumple’s episode?
RG tweeted Adam recently asking if it was 302 – Snowing, 303 – Regina, 304 – Rumple, and he replied that it was. So Hook’s backstory has to be 305 if we’re finding out how he became a pirate within the first 5 eps.

Was posting in another thread mentioning Rufio just before, and it reminded me how they’ve said they plan to have a nod to the character in the show. Could that nod be Devin?
Does that mean Devin isn’t YoungHook? Because if Devin = Young Hook and Devin = a nod to Rufio, then that mean YoungHook is a former Pan? Which given how old PP is himself, I don’t know if Timeline wise it can add up.
