..if they do end up doing a half-octopus Ursula….I’d love see if they can make that attractive
They might choose a really attractive actress, black is a very slimming colour (because Ursula’s tentacles are black, not that the actress has to be black, but she could be if they wanted, shutting up now). If they can make mermaids who are half fish attractive then they could probably do it for Ursula too.

Previously, Lana Parrilla has said she wants to play Ursula since Regina said she had to deal with a certain mermaid in “Skin Deep.” So, I think Ursula is going to be Regina. Regina could do a temporary spell on herself which allows her to breathe underwater (like in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire when Harry eats the gillyweed to temporarily grow gills and webbed hands/feet). Note, this is not my image. I just did a search for it.

August 20, 2013 at 6:43 pm #205946RumplesGirlKeymasterI am so conflicted about Ursula. On the one hand, Lana would do her brilliantly. On the other hand, I’m not a fan of the idea at all.

Keeper of FelixAugust 21, 2013 at 3:11 pm #206107HappyEndingsSpectatorYou know the only problem with Regina being Ursula how would that work with Rumble getting the ink? Rumble had to have a mermaid to go to the bottom of the ocean to get the ink and if Regina was Ursula he wouldn’t have needed the mermaid.

Because Rumple and Regina normally play so nice together?
Those two don’t do things for each other without expecting the other to do something in return. And Regina shows up with this mermaid problem days after Rumple lost Belle through the machinations of Regina. He wouldn’t be too happy with her and wouldn’t really feel like asking for favors at that moment. In fact he kicks her out and says “we’re done”

Though I have a new crack theory on Liam & Ursula.
I know we tossed the crack theory before that Ursula is the nickname for a giant magical squid, a krakken. So instead of Eric, I think Liam is Captain Ahab. Instead of hunting Moby Dick, he is after the Krakken.
Pulling from the wiki page:
Little information is provided about Ahab’s life prior to meeting Moby Dick, although it is known that he was orphaned at a young age.
The character is known for chasing revenge, sort of sounds kind of like Hook. He is also charismatic, as he gets the crew to follow his quest.
So like in Moby Dick, the Krakken attacks, destroys the ship, kills Ahab, leaving Hook stranded where he met up with pirates in FTL.
Now I think there is some relation between the Krakken and the Mermaids.
Hundreds of years later, Rumple does something to weaken the krakken to get its ink. Maybe that is how he gets the triton, and the Krakken no longer crosses worlds and the mermaids get corrupted and barbaric. Sometime later, Ariel, one of the last non-corrupted mermaids, makes a deal with Regina.

August 21, 2013 at 4:29 pm #206118RumplesGirlKeymasterI feel as though I have no coherent thoughts anymore but I’ll try 🙂
Ahab and Hook really work well together. Let’s face it, Rumple is Hook’s white whale. Bae was almost a sort of Ishmael, willing to follow Hook on adventures before the events of ASOTM happened. Then he saw Hook’s true colors as equally obsessed as his father.
So far I like it.
I think my biggest problem stems from “where are Ahab and YoungHook?” Are we talking FictionalLondon? FTL? Ahab (and Moby Dick) aren’t fairy tales. It’s like Frankenstein. He had his world which was very 1920 Hollywood Monster. Henry was even surprised that Frankie was in SB because “he’s not in the book, he’s not even a fairy tale.” But we know that Frankie was in SB because Regina pulled him there. For them to put Ahab in FTL presents a bit of a problem conceptually; fairy tales come from one world (unless they have a specific land tied to them, like NL, WL, and Oz).
Krakken: well. Why not? Kraken’s got treated in PotC and we know A and E know those films. I just worry about how the CGI gurus would handle it. They don’t have the spending budget PotC did. Often times their CGI stuff is perfectly fine for TV but..well, very CGI.

Judging from the graphics we’ve seen for OUATinWL, they may have gotten a better budget and/or better CGI. That rabbit, that portal, that weird lava-water place all look great from the promo. Going on S3 of Once, I would say I could trust and expect them to have better CGI.
