Magic cannot be used a convenience every 5 seconds. There would be no story, plot or excitement. Besides, one of Regina’s arcs is trying to get away from her dependency on magic.
Rumple could not cure himself when he had it. It is not cured with just any magic, which is why Regina was frighten when Think cornered her with it too.

I fully expect Regina to pull a Lana Evil Panda moment, snap her fingers and be all “Fool, I am DONE WITH YOU” and then POOF

If he and Hook are going off to search for the sextant, he may be thinking that depending on how long that takes, this could be the final time he ever sees his wife and daughter if the poison finishes him off while he’s off on this little mission. So when he’s kissing Snow, he’s probably thinking it could be the last time he ever kisses his wife. And when he’s hugging Emma, he’s probably thinking it could be the last time he ever holds his baby girl. And now I just wanna curl up in a corner and cry. 🙁

IMO that’s exactly what he is thinking. And it’s so so so sad. 🙁 There has to be some kind of cure, there has to be something!
