There was a spoiler which gave that plot away. Every year, a powerful sea goddess gives the mermaids legs for one day only (or something like that). However, I think that Regina might take the place of the sea witch and impersonate her as a way to trick Ariel later on.
I know, but I mean shouldnt she have been a human when she was speaking with Snow? The spell turned her into a human. Unless its like in the orginal story where she was given a potion and had to swim to land first and then drink it and become human..

At some point Snow says “how did you do that” and Ariel has a look of pleasure as if something went right. I think Ariel says Snow as a mermaid and then somehow transforms herself into a human when she steps on land a la Splash but she has some sort of spell that helps her that she got from Ursula/Regina/Thing

But it does make sense for visionBelle to be Peter’s shadow.
Also, can’t wait to see Regina and Rumple reunite. I’ve always liked their relationship together. Especially in next week’s episode. It seems in next week’s episode that she wants to help Rumple with the shadow.

Hmm. Possibly. We do know that Ariel is in SB with Belle but we also know that 306 in SB takes place at the same time as 301 did in NL. They are flashing back in essence to what happened when the JR went through the portal but from Belle’s perspective. So if Ariel brings Belle to NL (and we know that Ariel is also in 307) it would probably be in present time after 302 or so. Meaning she could have been in NL all along but being held captive. Maybe that’s how the Shadow knew how to look like her?

I almost followed that, RG. That is twisted and cracky and sounds plausible maybe. But then so does everything else.
So let me get this straight…the theory is Belle is in Storybrooke and does the spell and somehow meets Ariel who then takes her to Neverland. Whilst in Neverland, PP captures her and uses her likeness and the shadow to play with Rumple’s emotions. Yikes. That means Belle, Neal and Henry could all be in the same location. Rumple’s whole family in one spot.

Yes. I think poor Ariel gets sucked through to SB when the portal opens and meets Belle who is watching the JR sail and then fall through the portal. She hears crying or something, goes down to the beach and there is Ariel.
Somehow Ariel gets a portal open (around the time of 302 or 303) and the two of them go to NL where Ariel swims off to get help from her mermaid sisters and Belle, going off to find Rumple, is captured.

Maybe Rumple’s father didn’t abandon his son, maybe he was kidnapped by Pan (for moving on to another son, if Rumple is Pan’s brother) and he kidnapped his own father to get back at him and his younger brother.

This isn’t so crack as you think. Quite a few of us think it’s Rumple’s father and that Rump’s father is also PP’s father.
