I am still betting it is a photo of Snow, Emma and Henry.
How would a photo of Snow have a “That’s not possible,” affect on Emma, if Emma can’t remember ever having met her?
When Emma and Henry were leaving SB where did they go Emma gave her place up in Boston so they couldn’t go there so if Regina set Emma up in an apt or how did that work?
Plus how did Henry go to school without records from SB?It’s magic!

In that circumstance, I’d expect Emma to react with, “Who the freak is that woman and why is she in a photo with me and my son?” as opposed to, “OMG I totally recognise this, there’s something weird going on.” Her reaction in the promo was the latter IMO.
Well to shock Emma a photo of Tamara and Neal together would do it. As for MM, Emma and Henry she would start to click that she had to be some where to take a photo for this.

Why would that shock her though? At this point she knows Neal left her and that’s it. She probably wouldn’t be surprised at all if Neal was in a pic with a woman.

But Emma shouldn’t rememeber Tamara. Let alone, she shouldn’t know anything about the whole trying to kill her thing. That should have all been erased by Regina since it ties directly into SB. She gave them happy memories, remember

But Emma has no idea what Tamara did. To her, in her present conidition, she would just be some woman. She has no idea about the shooting, kidnapping, ect. Emma’s whole past is changed post giving birth to Henry. She remembers none of it.

I don’t see any other ideas as to what she is holding. I know it isn’t a scroll, I don’t think it is a map of Tennessee how they would awake Emma and me a “In a shock moment” doesn’t fly with me either.

Objects to jog memories need to be more significant–Sneezy’s drinking glass, Belle’s cup, Graham’s wolf that gets him started down the road to remembering, the unicorns that almost jogged Charming’s memory in S1, the windmill that jogged Cursed David’s memories. The picture of Snow and Emma for instance is a better use of a significant object than one of Neal and Tamara. the one of Snow and Emma has greater significance to Emma than the other.
I don’t think it is the THE scroll from 311 but that doens’t mean it isn’t A scroll.
I don’t know why it would be Tennessee at all as it hold ZERO significance to Emma. Do you mean Tallahassee?
