The article is describing the scene–we don’t know what happens after and not clear if the writer of the articles knows the outcome. So all she knows is Zelena puts something in David’s tea. Therefore “Tries” is the right description–the writers may or may not know whether what Zelena is “trying” in the scene works.
As for the word poison, it doesn’t just mean something that causes death but something that causes injury. I would use the word if someone put something that caused an unwanted mental state as well, especially if the person is completely unaware it is happening.
Yes, people have had dreams without imbibing anything, as well has having them in the dream realm after a curse. There could be lots of reasons for David wandering around in a delirium or having vision besides having consumed something Zelena tried to give him.
Who knows whether he drinks it or not, but even if he does, I think her game is to win his trust–for now–until she gets that baby. Something happening to Charming that traces back to her would be horrible for her, but if she seems like she’s the one who saves him, that might make them think she’s trustworthy.[adrotate group="5"]“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. So why is Zelena hanging out with Snow, instead of trying to foil Regina’s memory potion?
Possibly David saw something in EF that she wants to erase from his memories forever before he gets ahold of Regina’s potion. Or, to replant those memories with new memories?
It would be foolish to kill him, but why not just bring in the monkeys to take him?
March 20, 2014 at 11:16 pm #254515TheGoldenKeyParticipantI posted this on another thread but thought I’d post it here too as the sneak peek made me wonder about Johanna. Here’s what I think.
Zelena telling Snow that she knew Johanna made me think and go back and watch The Queen is Dead episode. I think Johanna is connected to Zelena and may have had a hand in her being taken from Cora and ending up in Oz. A few things are now standing out as a little odd for me.
1) Young Snow caught Johanna trying on her tiara. Was there more to that scene than showing Young Snow being snippety?
2) Both Johanna and Zelena have red hair. Not a big thing but still a physical trait they share and worth mentioning.
3) Johanna was Eva’s hand maid and could have easily assisted Cora by slipping Eva the poison that killed her.
4) Johanna told Young Snow about the liaison between Eva & Blue and admitted to Snow that she wasn’t suppose to know about it. How did she know about it then? Was she spying on Eva?
5) It was Johanna who convinced Young Snow to seek out Blue only to have Cora impersonate Blue in an attempt to get Young Snow to use dark magic. Was Johanna in on the set up?
6) In SB, when Cora & Reggie held Johanna hostage, Snow said not to harm Johanna as she has nothing to do with this. Cora response was: ”Of course she does.” Hmmm…..makes you wonder what Johanna had to do with everything and how much she knew.
7) Towards the end of that scene, Snow again asks Cora to let Johanna go and says, “You got what you came for”. Cora’s response: ”Not quite everything” and throws Johanna to her death. Makes you wonder if Cora had other reasons for wanting her dead and that’s also what “she came for”. Could Johanna know more than either Reggie or Snow knows and was Cora afraid that Johanna would spill the beans about Zelena, thus shutting her up forever?

March 20, 2014 at 11:29 pm #254516TheGoldenKeyParticipantAm I the only one who thinks that when he drinks it, it makes him hallucinate/deep sleep, hence the weird Emma dream in the promo?
No, you aren’t. 🙂 The promo sure did feel like a dream sequence. Maybe it’s really “poppy” tea that makes him sleepy……. like when Dorothy and the gang, feel asleep in the poppy fields. 🙂

When watching that scene between Johanna and Young Snow, Johanna looks around nervously and then spills the beans about Blue & Eva. Makes you wonder who is sneakier, Blue or Johanna.

That is probably because the Kings men were around and Eva, Johanna didn’t want them to hear. I doubt if Johanna had any other part in what is happening now.

Poppy of course is the source for Opium /heroin–oh that Wicked Zelena. She’s running a drug cartel!

March 20, 2014 at 11:50 pm #254522RumplesGirlKeymasterDo I think Johanna has a part to play *now?* No.
Do I think Eva is from Oz and brought Johanna with her as her maid when she married Leo? Yes.
Do I think we might see a young Johanna the same time we see Young Eva meet “young” Leo? Yes.
But that’s about it.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 21, 2014 at 1:39 am #254536PheeParticipantIf water kills Zelena.. I think that normal water that we drink wouldn’t work. Maybe water from the well? Or magic water?
Good thought, I like this! We noticed that the the gazebo Philora were having their picnic at has the exact same design as the gazebos over the Wells of Wonders in Agrabah and WL on the sister show, and Ana said that there’s one in all lands. The one in FTL had the floor boarded up (maybe Zelena’s the one who did that, so no one could get to the only water that could harm her), but otherwise looked identical. Maybe they’ll need to get back there to get some water from that well in order to defeat Zelena? But then, the water from the Well of Wonders is meant to save people, not kill them, so I wonder if it would just melt off her green/magic and leave her human, her soul saved, undone, so to speak?
I guess they could also use the trusty SB well water instead as the magic water, but given that they went to the trouble to show that identical gazebo in FTL, I think it’d be that specific well system’s water, which I think is different to the SB well/Nostos system.
In other news, about what Zelena’s plan is for Charming, it wouldn’t surprise me if she does try to kill him. If she wants their baby, it’ll be easier for her to take and keep if Charming is permanently out of the picture…
Or maybe she’s not gonna kill him, maybe she’s just gonna slowly but surely alter his mind so he becomes unfit to parent a baby, and he’ll get shut out of everyone’s lives. (Sidenote: I wonder if she’s often made “tea” for Rumple?)…
Or maybe she wants to assume enough control over his mind so that she can have him for herself, so he can still be the father of the baby she’s gonna snatch from Snow. If Zelena grew up without her father, and she felt that was a big, gaping hole in her life, she probably wouldn’t steal the baby and raise it on its own…
Maybe she can’t have kids of her own, but she wants to raise a child, believing that she would be a wonderful mother because she knows exactly what NOT to do due to her own crappy childhood. Maybe that’s why she originally threatened Philora’s baby, because she was planning to take their baby, (and Philip?) so she made them a deal that she’d get their baby, and she expected them to slip up sooner or later. And then along happened Snow and Charming, and if Snow’s from Zelena’s own bloodline, then a baby of hers might be more desirable for Zelena, especially if her motivation behind all this is partly having felt abandoned by her own father, who was also Snow’s father…
Aaaaannnnd now I’m wondering if Zelena slipped Snowing an aphrodisiac at some point during the missing year so they’d make with the baby making.
Well, that post ended up much longer than anticipated. Stream of consciousness posting FTW. 😛
