Yes. Cogsworth was “head of household,” he kept the time basically. Made sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing it WHEN they were supposed to be doing it. so he became a clock.

And to go along with this, maybe Lumiere made a deal with Rump that went sour and he ended getting turned into candle?
I remember in Wishmaster, this woman wished to stay beautiful forever. He turned her into a mannequin. Maybe Lumiere wished to be the brightest fellow in the land in excgange for his castle. So rump turned him into a candle.

I hope Lumiere is like Rumpel’s best friend/servant whose a candle!!! And the title Be Our Guest would be wonderful!

The fact that both Belle and Lumiere are mentioned in what appears to be the same scene, I guess means they want us to forget about the blatant Lumiere and Cogsworth props from Skin Deep? Or will Lumiere be someone Belle knows pre-Rumple, and he’ll end up kidnapped by Rumple and turned into the candlestick, and once Belle gets to the castle, she never knows that she’s dusting her old friend?
