As of this moment, I am going to say that the curious thing is the necklace that both Witches are wearing in the stills.

Saw a tumblr post the other day where someone said that when they saw the title, they immediately thought of the song lyrics, “The power of love is a curious thing.” Considering they’re talking about messing with time travel, I’d say that using a line from the big song from Back To The Future might be a thing they’d do. If we’re gonna find out who cast the Curse, that will certainly involve “The Power Of Love” due to the sacrifice needed, and also possibly the motivation behind the Curse being cast.
FWIW, lots of people commented that the end of 311 with Hook at Emma’s door felt VERY Back To The Future, so if that was intentional, and if they’re naming the ep where someone casts the Curse after the song from that same movie…it’s a bit convoluted, but nevertheless, it just adds to my suspicions about Hook’s role with the Curse.
About the necklaces, I recall in Oz the great and powerful, each witch has her own magical artifact. Evanora (east witch) has the emerald necklace. Theodora (witch of the west) has her ruby ring, and Glinda had the wand with the white gem at the tip. Just throwing that out there.
