3×01 “The Heart of the Truest Believer” — FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE MOMENTS
Last year AFTER THE SHOW EPISODE was completed, I always enjoyed coming to the forum to read this thread and see what everyone thought about the show. There were some lively discussions here…
So what are your favorite and least favorite moments …
[adrotate group="5"]September 29, 2013 at 9:13 pm #212829RumplesGirlKeymasterFirst off, welcome back everyone! If you’re just returning to OncePodcast things must look a wee bit different. Let me know if you need ANYTHING!
If you’re one of the crazies that hasn’t actually LEFT the forums since the summer, we made it guys! We actually made it. And boy did we have some fun getting here!
This was a crazy good episode. Like CRAZY. Where do I even begin:
–Emma giving birth: I cried. And whoa magic!
–The portal scene was epic.
–Rumple being super Rumple-y. I have missed my Rumple.
–Charming family fight. Emma had every right to yell. She’s so hurt. But she loves them and will recover.
–MERMAIDS
–MERMAIDS AGAIN
–CAT FIGHT
–Emma being the Savior
–Henry FLYING!
–PETER PAN!! (is super creepy)
–RIP GOAT
–Rumple crying = me crying.

Heros don't get their Happy Ending!

Hated: Tamara dying. I wanted to see more of an arc for her character. I got a glimpse of it when she stood in the way of the LB and Henry. She realized immediately what had happened and her arc was just beginning. Ugh!

The dialogue on the ship was totally real. I loved some of those lines.

Too many epic moments.
Fav Moments:
I teared up immediately within the first 5 secs…Emma giving birth to Henry and not giving herself the chance to hold him was a tear jerker for sure.
Neal telling Mulan they made a movie about her
Neal saying aloud that he took the easy way out instead of finding Emma and telling her he loves her. Another tear jerker!
Emma yelling at her parents saying how much their lives have sucked being the “good guys”. I’m kinda glad this happened. We finally get to see Emma letting some of it out. It’s real and raw and totally what I wanted to see Emma do since season 2
Regina and her snarkiness…oh gotta love it!!!
Rumple being Rumple….Tamara: “Will you forgive me?”
Rumple: “No” *Rips heart and crushes it* So deliciously evil (even though sad to not see Tamara’s character develop)Neal swinging Rumple’s walking stick was so badass….dare I say we’ll see him in action? YES~!
Neal going back to his roots and using the thing he hates the most…Magic! “Think of her” Awww….I really hope Neal fights hard for Emma this time!!!! Go get her!!!
In-fighting between Snow and Regina and Charming and Hook….god what a great scene…love that Snow finally punched Regina. God, I’ve been waiting for that since season 1!
Epic tidal wave and mermaids!!!! POTC style!
Peter Pan wanting Henry’s heart??? Wah??? All I can say is…that’s one deranged boy….
I probably have much more, but this is all I can muster up for now…
Least Fave Moments:
Greg getting his shadow ripped. I really felt sorry for him. His life was just full of tragedy all the way up to his “death”?
September 29, 2013 at 10:13 pm #212867SlurpeezParticipantFavorite moments:
- Seeing Mr. Gold dressed at Rumple. *swoon*
- Seeing Henry and Peter Pan fly!
- All of Neal’s scenes
- Snow and Regina’s cat fight
- Daddy Charming saving Emma after Emma jumped overboard to save them all
"That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

Yeah, I thought I would be the only one. I completely hated that as well. I mean, her character was not the most likeable once you found out that she had been manipulating them all, but when she realized that what Henry had said was true, it was awesome. I finally saw her have an actual character instead of being either purposely oblivious and happy or righteously dignified. Her eyes held some real emotion and when she stood in front of Henry and told him to run, I felt it was for his safety and not to keep him away from the Lost Ones out of spite. I stopped and thought ‘Hmm. I wonder what was up with her? I wonder what lead her onto the path that she is on? After all, it’s unfair to only get Greg’s backstory when she obviously seems to have something going on. She has to have some sort of tale.’
Then Rumpelstiltskin came…*sigh* I love Rumpel, but I have never been so unhappy to see him in a scene. When Tamara started to beg, it really felt genuine. She almost reminded me of a child. When he ripped out her heart, it felt more horrible than a lot of other things he’s done. It felt as though he’d wasted character potential. It also felt as though he’d taken revenge on a person who’s crimes against him had actually been rendered null and void (which is kind of true, even though he didn’t know that).
This, of course, brings to mind something that I have seen in Once but haven’t thought much on until now…It seems that if you are not magical, or are not a chosen one directly connected to magic, you get the short end of everything. This whole finding each other and true love stuff seems to extend only as far as the Charmingstiltskin bloodline (Yes, I consider Hook, Regina and Belle to be part of it by association). If you’re not of it, nobody cares. Greg was obviously wronged by Regina in an irreversible way, yet because she is a magical and misunderstood main character, he gets the Dementor’s Kiss for it and she doesn’t.
As soon as I saw them go, instead of being happy that GOAT was done for good, I just felt…bitter. I felt like it was so unfair that they had to die when our main characters who have done so much worse were forgiven and are still alive “finding each other” as we speak… which was a very unexpected feeling… :/

Other than that, I loved the episode:
-All parts were awesome (even though Felix still bugs me).-I’m glad that they seemed to have ditched the corny dialogue and made Charming into an actual person who sometimes believes that violence is the answer.
-Emma finally told her parents that by golly, they are the same age and can, therefore, teach her very little.
-I loved Hook’s sassy “Mmhmm Gurlfiend” look at Regina when Emma told her off. Come to think of it, I’m starting to actually like Hook.
-Rumpelstilskin is back, but much meaner, which is always a plus.
-Peter Pan is the Seed of Chucky. He was my new favorite villain as soon as he said: “Let’s play.”
September 29, 2013 at 10:49 pm #212889Killian JonesParticipantIt cool to see Rumple as dedicated as he is to finding Henry! He’s letting himself go to even darker places to find him when he ripped Tamara’s heart I thought that just showed how cold he can be. Then in the scene with that Lost Boy wow it looks like you don’t want to be in his way!
