Neal not trusting Rumple- I want to like Neal and liked him better after last week but COME ON! Neal just be nice to Rumple! Please!
But he did! Neal trusted Rumple enough to give him back the box when he saw that Rumple was telling the truth the whole time!
Neal and the rest need action, not words with Rumple. As Belle has said, “you toy with words like you do people.” To prove that you’re a good man, action is requried. Neal saw that Rumple was telling the truth and had cut off his shadow and took the first step to healing the relationship by giving Rumple the box and trusting him enough to go in and save Henry.
Re” Rumple’s clearly visible shadow: UGH. The CGI was really good last night but that shouldn’t happen. Especially when it’s vital to plot.

I agree with Jo that action was required and I liked that we saw Rumple really sort of understood where Neal came from, because it is where he is with Pan too. So while RC is good at that sad face, ultimately, Rumple ultimately realizes better than anyone what it is that Neal is going through when it comes to him.
I just hope they have conversations about this, and not sweep it to “offscreen”. Use the drama!

–Little Rumple hugging his father–just the way Henry hugs people.
–The parallels between Rumple and Pan and Bae all over the place
–Regina actually giving Belle some credit and at least a shout-out (cuz come on, ANOTHER episode without her? Does “regular” actually mean anything in this show?)
–Little Rumple learning to spin
–Rumple being brave (but nobody got to see it!!!)
–Something before the first ogres war on the timeline…wow. And um, a little time to catch up on that I guess.
Dislikes: No Belle, Henry not listening to THREE parents, and dangit a cliffhanger with TWO WEEKS to wait for resolution? Cruel. (They did that with the Outsider, too. Evil evil show.)
Oh, and theory on the box? Pan will totes tell Baelfire–hey, your papa’s in there. Have fun. Off to be immortal and stuff. Cuz he knows it’ll mess with Bae’s head. And he’ll probably spin it as Rumple being cowardly and betraying them or something, too. Looking forward to that (in a, go ahead, crush my heart, sort of way).

Least: Like others, two weeks from today. Also, really could have cared less about the whole Henry thing. PP and Rumple stole the episode.
I plan to boycott what ever they show on SUNDAY…

The casting choices for young Rumple and Rumple’s father Malcolm. I loved all of their scenes together.
Loved the spinsters. Hope to see more of them in future episodes. We have so many characters doubling up on EF identities (ex: Ruby is Red is the Wolf) I am curious to know if these 2 have any other EF aliases?
Did I see tears in Pan’s eyes as he let go of young Rumple to stay in Neverland? Intrigued.
Pan reveals Pandora’s Box and reiterates to Rumple how easy it was to retrieve it-simply by imagining it. Makes all our heroes efforts with Ariel seem so tedious.
I agree with other posters, loved all the good looks jokes tossed out by Rumple, Hook, Charming.
Disliked:
I disliked that there was a fake Pandora’s box. Just meh.
Did not like the scene in which the “fab five” drew weapons on Rumple. Don’t know if it was the writing, the acting, or both but it just felt rushed and awkward.
Keeper of Regina's blackened sole special.
December 27, 2013 at 10:25 pm #233973elleParticipantNeal telling Rumple that he will help Charming because of being family and that’s what family do- That was where I disliked Neal the most this episode. Rumple can’t get TWO MINUTES ALONE with Belle without Snowing interrupting, yet Rumple has to help Charming out of the goodness of his heart. How about Snowing leave RumBelle alone, that should have been the trade!
The following are the scenes where Snowing interrupted Rumbelle dates.
1). 2×01–when Rumple unleashes a wrath. The Charming’s go to him to ask him what he had done an what was going on. If you want privacy for a date, don’t release a wraith.
2). 2×10–Regina is accused of murdering Archie. That takes precedent over a date.
3). 2×21–The Charming’s interrupt Rumple and “Lacey” to find Regina and find the beans. That also takes precedent over a date.
December 27, 2013 at 10:31 pm #233975elleParticipantI feel like this episode was just like Nasty Habits–it was a way to sympathize Rumple. And while in felt for him as a child, I don’t feel for him at all as an adult. And I totally agree with Neal being suspicious of his father–he learned a few days ago that Rumple had planned on killing Henry, had wanted to kill Henry for a very long time.
Some of the scenes I didn’t like–
Rumple trying to get another favor from Charming–All I could think was, “Really Rumple?” They whole group just found out that he tried to kill Henry. That he planned on killing him for a long time, and not long after he tries to get something out of them? For someone that wants their trust, he goes about it that wrong way. I cheered when Neal told him off.
And the whole reveal that Peter Pan was Rumple’s grandfather made me cringe–It just feels so silly, and I wish the writers had not gone down that road for the show.
December 28, 2013 at 12:08 pm #234050PriceofMagicParticipantI get the feeling you’re anti-Rumple which would explain why his centrics have been your least favourite episodes of the season. Hook’s centric was my least favourite of the season.
