I missed the first 8 minutes! 🙁 Friend and dinner parties… fun to socialize not fun to miss your fave show!
Agree with the comments that this epi felt retconned/plot devicey.
The show has been teasing Henry’s arrival in Storybrooke since Season 1. Now it seems Henry was chosen for Regina merely by coincidence? Was that the impression others got? Is there more to this story to be revealed? I feel cheated!
Disliked Regina’s breakdown in Gold’s shop. I felt like they were trying to establish that Gold had no memories of the Enchanted Forest and they belabored the point. Also, if someone walked into my shop with a baby screaming about their unstoppable revenge I would call Sheriff Graham. Rumple was oddly not phased.
How did Pan switch bodies with Henry? Is there an explanation for this or is it just “magic” ?? The writers used to be very specific about which characters had which powers and what magic they were capable of wielding. Now it seems as if anything goes.
I have no likes yet :-/ I admit I was distracted while attempting to watch so I will have to tune in online tomorrow and see what I didn’t absorb the first go around. Thanks to others posting here for filling in the blanks.

No proper explanation, but there was mutual eye glowing. Pan was trying to yank Henry’s shadow (which had glowing eyes), then Rumple opened Pandora’s Box, and while he was still holding onto the shadow, Pan’s eyes glowed, then Henry’s eyes glowed, then Pan’s eyes glowed again.

Right now I’m of the opinion that Pan believed Henry into the box and also belived that they would switch bodies or would look like the other..or something.

Agreed Watcher…I personally wanted them to go with invasion of the body snatchers scenario so best of both worlds I guess.

Neal and Rumple reconcile (Hopefully forever but knowing ONCE more drama will come)
EVIL HENRY Well Pan but still in Henry body doing Evil.
Dislike
Forget potion. Yeah….I have a feeling the writers realized that they red conned something and needed a magic mguffing to fix it.

Regina ripping out Henry’s heart (but where’s Pan’s original one?!) and saying she has no regrets. That’s very in character for her, so good job writers, making her do something heroic but without losing her edge and ignoring her darker nature. This did not feel too retcony to me, the way they did it but there were a few things that did which I will get to in the dislikes.
Seeing Baby Henry fuss and spit up (yes thank you writers! And they even threw in a bit of Granny with the advice too. )
The bonding between Snow, Charming and Emma (Yay!)
The bonding between Rumple, Nealfire and …well sort of Henry (too bad it was grandpa, not his son!)
The smile Emma had noticing Rumple and Nealfire’s bonding, and the way they worked together to light the canon
The silly shadow-coconut sail (well we already had a feather one so why not….)
Confirmation that Regina would have killed the savior as a baby, if she could have (we debated that a lot and I thought that was the point of her sending the guards but now we know!).
Dislike
Jared’s acting as Pan. I know I know, I’m being harsh on the kid but he needed to work the eyebrow! I think its exciting for Jared to get something meaty to play so I’m happy for him, but it was just a small scene there so maybe he’ll work the eyebrow soon.
There was something retcon and off feeling about the SB portion of the episode, the little bits I liked up there aside.
1) Dr. Whale’s hair. The whole point was they stayed the same for 28 years. It broke my suspension of disbelief a little but even more so was he seemed a bit different too. Maybe its just been so long since he was in the show, or Anders is like yeah, I’ll do this lame cameo but so much for getting a good story arc here. Did you see the picture from him and the guy who plays Eric from EnchtaCon? Was it a subtle sign he’s just not that into this show?
2) The Regina/Gold convo…. I agree he didn’t know, but I think he ought to have told her she seemed crazy and go see Hopper, as he did last time in Welcome to Storeybrooke. I felt they ought to have clued us into the visuals of the town repeating life as last time, and they didn’t and it is partly what gave me a retcon feel, besides of course the obvious Plot Coupon of Potion Forgetfulness!

Speaking of which, I like that we got a Red shoutout. And speaking of absent actors, I also liked that we had a Sidney voice cameo.
The silly shadow-coconut sail (well we already had a feather one so why not….)
I enjoyed that they shot that thing out of a cannon. It was a bit silly, but it made me chuckle.

Yes, it was good to have that clarified.

LOL I just got done posting in another thread that I thought he actually did really well in that scene. Though yes, he failed at the eyebrow, but not everyone has the magical eyebrows.

He didn’t feel out of character to me, but the hair did bug. And just like Whale’s hair should have been longer, Regina’s should have been shorter, (this has bugged me a bit since we got the promo pics).

the adoption itself seemed fishy
as did the time when Regina went back to the adoption agency but still left with Henry
likes:
every single Neverland moment (but wtf what the fairytale Regina you have on regrets I thought you were better than that)
oh and also liked the moment which everyone else hated when Regina was in the potion mixing and she was telling Henry about the heroic evil Queen and the evil saviour
maybe its just because I have a flare for story telling that i might not mind that they deliberately set up a retroactive continuity cenario.
p.s. for all of you who are wondering who wrot ethe book the answer: Regina. i know it makes on sense but she otld a story this episode so she is my enw author. haters gonna hate on my theory.
Magic always comes with a price, so I pay with visa.

Back at the start of S1, Regina didn’t know about Henry’s book until she was told about it, and once she got her hands on it, she read it and was mad that the final pages were missing so she couldn’t see what was at the end, so she can’t be the one who wrote it. I’d been thinking that the book came to SB along with Henry, but that theory has gone up in smoke now. Guess I’m back to thinking it was Blue’s “final preparations”.
