If he removes the dagger from his father’s back, and the name revealed is……Rumbelle! Christmas comes early.
[adrotate group="5"]I would love to see Rumpel’s shadow coming to release him from the cuff. Rumple always has a Plan B. Always. Redeemed or not, I want him to remain The Dark One in some ways. We will have to wait and see, as he removes the dagger from his father’s back, if Rumpelstiltzkin’s name remains on the dagger.
I think he someways Rumple will always be the Dark One, just like in some ways Regina will always be the Evil Queen. Identity isn’t as simple as either be this or that. Most of the time we are hybrids of various things and our experiences and our past and our actions shape us forever. Regina will never be the stable princess again because she changed into the evil queen and is now in the process of becoming something new which is a culmination of her past as both the Stable Girl and The EQ. Same with Rumple. He can never be Spinner Rumple again because if he does loose his Dark One’s curse, he has changed too much over 300 yrs of being The Dark One and doing what he did to revert. He’ll become something new that will probably be a mix. DarkSpinner or something 🙂
I suspect he’ll always have a streak of ruthlessness in him now, but it will be tempered by Bae’s forgiveness and Belle’s love.

According to Hook in 307, Dark Hollow, Pan’s Shadow has become an entity in its own right. It’s a part of him but it’s also not a part of him anymore (does that make sense? lol)
So I wonder if Rumple’s is the same. Can the Shadow sense that Rumple needs the dagger back? And brings it to him without needing to be summoned?
