Steve Walsh was the lead singer of the band “Kansas”. A&E get inspiration from music a lot of times. Maybe why they chose Dorothy to marry someone surnamed Walsh. His best known song is “Carry on My Wayward Son”, which reminds me of Neal. Since young Bae is suspected to be filming maybe there is a connection there.

Excellent research!

Wow! Another great nod leading us to Oz. Good digging there 3princesses! 🙂
True story about Kansas. I used to love them! Saw them well over a decade ago. Robby Steinhardt, who does vocals and violin, is quite heavy with tons of hair. He had a white hand towel that he would pick up, in between songs, to wipe his face with. Now, a group of us were sitting front right, stage left, with him directly in front of us. Well, at one point, he grabbed his trustee towel, reached behind his pants, and dug in deep to wipe the sweat from the crack of his butt. HE THEN proceeded to wipe his face with ‘said’ towel. Well, didn’t we girls all simultaneously let out an “EEWWWWW” that I’m sure he heard. We didn’t mean too, but it was so gross!
Every time they sang a hit like Dust in the Wind or Carry on Wayward Son, Steinhardt (who did the intros) complained about having to do their commercial hits and said they only appreciated the fans that had been with them since the beginning. Well, I tell you, they lost a few fans that night, including me. Sadly for me, I can’t help but envision that filthy towel and Dust in the Wind, as beautiful as it is, has been ruined for me. Anyway, just a little tale I thought I’d share.

The title of this eps is obviously a nod to Bruce.
He performed with Joe Walsh, who is from Kansas.
Walsh’s “Desperado” lyrics could be applied to Hook or Neal 🙂
Not to mention ‘Life of Illusion” – could apply to a number of characters.February 14, 2014 at 11:40 pm #245111PheeParticipantSteve Walsh was the lead singer of the band “Kansas”. Ah, back in the day I had a siggy banner with August in it, and the lyrics for Carry On My Wayward son. Definitely applies to Neal too. And could also apply to Walsh if he’s the son of Dorothy.

I love that and dust in the wind but hm….wonder where they’re going with this if its an intentional nod.

I would wager you’re right on the money. Chris Gorham is supposed to play an integral part in the lives of two characters, who could be Emma and Neal. Maybe he knew each of them individually in the past.

The main lyrics could also fit Emma, the idea that there will be peace when she is done. Because of the curse Regina cast she’s forgotten about being the Savior, and she appears to be at peace with her life–she’s got a great apartment, a great job, her son. She has what she always wanted: normalcy.
(also, please tell me I’m not the only one hoping this means the Winchester boys show up, Castiel in tow…)

Would be an interesting twist if Dorothy’s son is working for the Witch–hence the “Walsh” which is tied to the flying monkey in the 1939 movie
