is dating a flying monkey jumping the shark?
Just a bit. I dislike that part most of all, though I did enjoy seeing Emma defeat him.
Favorite moment: Seeing Emma find her parents again.

Emma fighting the monkey was amazing. And just like Emma should, she did all on her own. She’s no damsel in distress!! I love that about her. And then she goes and puts on the jacket of awesome!

I enjoyed pretty much everything in this ep. Emma dating a Flying Monkey is rather absurd, but I’d had a bit of time to get used to the idea, so it didn’t bother me when I actually saw the ep.
I liked seeing Henry and Emma play videogames (anyone know which one it was?!)
Diablo And Henry was at level 23, which is a LOST number. And on the screen for Emma’s character selection, it has a bow as the weapon, which is kinda cool.

My favorite moment was the interaction between Snow and Regina. I loved seeing Regina call the castle “Our castle”. I loved how Snow convinced her not to bury her heart. The scene was very well done. It reminds me of the episode “the evil queen” , when a small part of Regina wanted to be a family with Snow and I love to see this develop in the EF flashbacks this season—although it’s unfortunate that Regina and Snow will not remember.
Loved the Belle and Neal scenes, they are definitely not giving up on Rumple and I’m really looking forward to see what they can accomplish together.
Obviously, I loved the Regina and Robin interaction–OUTLAWQUEEN—I’m excited to see how this relationship develops, especially since Regina is still grieving over Henry. I can’t wait for Regina to meet Roland.
Loved the Henry and Hook scene–Why are you wearing THAT?” Loved seeing Emma stopping them from fighting. Looking forward to more interaction between the 2 this season.
Emma taking care of business–loved how Emma handled Walsh. Although, I feel bad for her–she almost married a monkey–I was shocked at how fast they revealed it, once his eyes glowed I was like OMG. Curious to see if he pops up again in SB.
There really wasn’t anything about this episode I didn’t like. I do have some questions that I hope get answered—who sent Hook the message? Since Mr. Gold is not in SB, who owns the town? Does he pawn shop still contain the chipped cup and his magical items? Is the magic globe still there? Will we see Philora again?

Hook- This is the hook I want to see. He was great this episode. I loved him in every scene.
Belle/Neal interaction- Finally they’re getting to spend some time together.
Robin finally acknowledging Belle’s role in Lacey at the dark castle- It’s about time. Although at the same time it kind of annoyed me since Robin clearly didn’t mention Belle to Neal in 3A yet Neal knows about Belle’s role. It kind of makes Robin look like a liar but probably just the writers trying to rectify the mistake that Robin didn’t mention Belle before.
Regina’s sass- Trust Regina to stop moments getting too sappy.
The reveal that Snow is pregnant- Though obviously they couldn’t hide it any longer, Ginny is clearly heavily pregnant in the EF scenes.
The Emma/Walsh fight- Walsh went bananas when Emma got her memories back.
The Flying monkeys- Great CGI and creepy as hell. You can tell that they are an actual threat.
The hilarity that is MonkeySwan- Emma most likely slept with a flying monkey, it is both funny and squicky at the same time.
Henry not getting his memories back
Zelena’s reveal- I think she could end up being one of my favourite characters.
Dislikes:
Henry- I preferred PanHenry. Henry wasn’t bad this episode but he has become one of my least favourite characters. He’s quite a flat character, there’s no depth to him really.
Robin Hood- There was something about Robin that I can’t quite describe but I didn’t warm to him this episode. I was feeling the OutlawQueen love before this episode but now, it’s cooled significantly. I didn’t feel like there was a spark between Robin and Regina. In fact I felt more spark between Regina and Little John rather than OutlawQueen.
Snow’s attitude towards Regina- Mainly the heart thing and when it came to Robin. Regina’s missing Henry and takes out her heart so the pain doesn’t hurt so much, so Snow basically tells her to suck it up and get over it. I get that Regina should keep her heart and Snow had a point etc, it just the way Snow said it. It just seemed a little bit insensitive and uncompassionate of Snow. But Season 3 Snow has kind of been like that. Also trying to push Regina towards Robin. The woman is mourning the loss of her son, she doesn’t have a Charming to rely on, so Snow’s answer is first guy they meet “Hey he looks cute”. Snow should give Regina some space.
Other than those minor things, a very good episode.

Belle’s dress. OMG.
Belle & Neal having hope. And Robin thanking Belle.
The return of Hope.
Hook being a hot pirate in FTL (something about his declarations about finding his ship again was extra hot…)
Hook and Henry facing off about their wardrobes.Least fave:
Snow not mentioning Cora when Regina ripped out her own heart…somehow that felt like a hole that should’ve been there, even if it wasn’t necessary.Side notes:
Don’t get engaged to Neal or Emma if you’re a baddy. It doesn’t go well. Hook…listen up here.Keeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. It was just setting the story up so it felt a little slow because most of what I’m eager to see is yet to come. . I also went into this episode WAY too spoiled due to all the journalists who had an advanced screening and me having too little patience and will power. I’m so glad this isn’t usually the case, and I’m looking forward to not knowing so much about the coming episodes.
How interesting to see an Emma who has experienced a very different past 10 years. I thought it was clever that her memories included an apartment fire that sent them from Boston to NYC- that answers that question. I wonder if that’s where they believed they were driving from after Storybrooke disappeared. Also interesting to note- in this reality, Henry knows the truth about his birth father. I loved seeing Emma and Henry acting as if they’d always been together. Henry is so perceptive! And Henry- wow is Jared growing up! His voice is starting to change, and he looks nearly as tall as I am!
I’m really relieved that Emma got her memories back so quickly. It was fun for a little while to see her in an alternate reality, but soon, I missed the Emma who knows the truth. The jacket scene- OMG, seeing her don her famous red jacket like her own super hero cape was just awesome- I wanted to cheer! I’m looking forward to the twist of Henry being the one who doesn’t believe or remember this time.
I’m glad Walsh turned out to be a flying monkey. Even before the reveal, something felt off about him. Maybe I just had trouble warming up to a new guy being in Emma’s life while she doesn’t know who she truly is, but I wanted him to go away. (And what is with all the comments about bestiality I’ve been seeing around the Internet? A: He was fully transformed into a human while dating Emma and B: she had no idea he was a flying monkey.)
Hook was quite likeable in this episode- poor guy trying so hard to get Emma’s memories back. I wonder who sent him the message and where the potion came from. I have this crazy theory that Neal is involved somehow. Also, where was Hook that he did not get pulled into this new curse?
In Enchanted Forest of one year ago, I loved seeing the whole gang together. The Charming and Hook BROTP is great- Charming genuinely cares about Hook now, what a switch!
Wow…are Aurora and Phillip really going to snitch? I wonder what their situation with the witch is.
Red appeared in the background! She must have been added in later through post production. There were lots of set photos from that day, and she wasn’t in any of them. In my mind, she was always there, just a little out of the range of the camera. It wouldn’t make sense for her not to be.
Regina and Snow.. OUR castle…I cannot believe it. Are these two finally going to make an effort to be family? After seeing them feud so much, this change is so refreshing. I was thrilled to finally hear Snow point out that she knows how Regina feels- that they are both in the same situation in regards to their children. And Regina listened and put her heart back in- whew! A heartless Regina is a scary concept.
Robin Hood and Regina finally meet. I can’t wait for Regina to notice the lion tattoo. What’s with Snow’s “He’s kinda cute.” remark to Regina? Is she playing matchmaker now?
Poor Neal…he is rightfully quite upset about the whole situation. Let’s hope he has the strength to not take the route his father did. I have this thought in the back of my mind that he may have had something to do with the curse being recast. Perhaps he made a deal with the witch.
I noticed that while Charming and Snow kept reinforcing the idea that Neal would have to let Emma and Henry go, Belle spoke optimistically and insisted he would see them again. Gosh, I adore her. Finally, we got some scenes between the two- something I’ve been waiting for since last season. It was just a tantalizing taste, but I think there’s going to be more. It’s the start of an adventure for them. They’re going to seek Rumple! I’m so excited they believe he’s out there! I really think this half of the season is going to be Belle’s time to shine. I’m so curious what happened to them in that missing year and where they are now that they can’t remember it.
Funny that some of the characters are wearing exactly what they were when the curse hit- Charming right down to the bloody shirt- and some aren’t- Snow was certainly not wearing a cloak, and Belle was trapped in Regina’s tower and in that simple blue shift we saw, not her gold dress and cloak. Then we later saw them all change clothes…was Regina feeling generous about magicking a new wardrobe for everyone? Or did Wonderland’s clothes horse stop by? I wonder if they miss modern clothes.
I understand why Rumple wasn’t in this episode- we can’t get him back that quickly. It would undermined what happened in the winter finale. I missed him though! In the first season, I wasn’t sure what to think of him and kept yelling at the characters to stop making deals with him, but lately, I have discovered I’ve become quite found of him. It was odd to not see him at all.
Now the big mystery- how on earth did Storybrooke come back? Is this Storybrooke any different than before? Does it have magic? Do people still lose their memories if they leave? Why did they only forget the past year and not everything else?
Loved the reunion with Emma and her parents- Emma not knowing if David remembered her and the relief when he did. It tickled me that Snow’s pregnancy is how they knew time had passed. So did they just wake up in Storybrooke one morning with Snow having a swollen belly? That must have been quite a shocker! Well, now Ginny no longer has to try to hide her bump while filming in the present day.
We only got the briefest glimpse of the Wicked Witch of the West, but I’m intrigued. This episode left me wanting so much more. I think the next 10 Sundays are going to be very satisfying and fun.
