Someone suggested in another thread that the person whom Zelena fancies is actually Charming, which is why she seems to single him out in EF and SB. Maybe he passed her over in favor of Snow White, and now she is getting her vengeance on David, and later, also on Snow, by targeting their unborn baby.

I like this guy’s idea I don’t know about the movie Grudge never seen it but I like the rest of the story.

It has been mentioned that The Tower was ‘influenced’ (?) by the movie The Grudge, so here’s my guess.
Rapunzel was murdered …maybe by The Dark One. Based on the movie, the evil spirit created by her death haunts the tower and can present itself as the terrified Rapunzel that Charming thinks he should save. One of the robed figures seen in the promo is Rapunzel’s father who tries to keep anyone from climbing the tower and into the trap. The other robed figure could be Neal gone Dark (although the thighs look too thin, the legs too long and the shoulders too straight. .but looking at blurry screen grab). It was also stated (I think) that Charming also meets Hook there. If so, and Neal has gone the Dark One path, then Hook might have learned this and remembers but Charming doesn’t. ….or a variation on this theme. I look forward to other theories that ref the movie.

I’ve never seen the movie either sadly, but a few things

But the problem with this part is that there can only be one Dark One at a time. Rumple is alive so there can’t be another Dark One. If the hooded figure is Neal then it can’t be DarkOne Neal

I don’t think Neal is there but I think the Hooded guy is her father.

I do too, in the EF. And I like the idea that he’s keeping people from getting because Rapunzel is some sort of dead thing/monster/ect

I’m wondering how Charming and Rapunzel are going to parallel what’s going on in the present in SB. They seem to be continuing that routine with this half of the season even though the flashbacks are of the past year. The only person who is locked up/trapped in SB is Gold, so I wonder if Charming trying to rescue Rapunzel will parallel David finding/trying to get Gold out of captivity, and that’s why Zelena targets David. In the promo we DO see the group in the cellar where Gold is being kept (although he’s not there when they find it).

My theory was this

Rapunzel is locked in the tower by her father (the hooded guy) because he fears loosing her (it’s a twist on the tale).

Charming tries to rescue her and in doing so, the Hooded Father gives Charming a nightmare in which he is dancing with Emma and living out his worst fear, loosing his child through the wardrobe again.

Charming must face his fear of having lost Emma once more in order to save Rapunzel.

In the present day, Charming, Hook, Emma and Regina go searching for a hooded figure who is running through town. It leads them to the cellar door of the farm where they will find Rumple.
