Re-watched clip of Cora being seduced by the charlatan. The embroidery on the handkerchief I think is telling, its of a lion rampart like Robin’s tattoo. Could Rob be a real prince? Now Jonathan was crooked as a barrel of snakes but Rob is clearly (pun intended) straight as an arrow. Methinks part of the symbolism is Cora didn’t get her prince (i.e. true love) but Regina will, as always time will tell.
I also observed that despite that kind-nature of his Leopold was as much a wishy-washy personality in his youth as he was in maturity. Which is clearly a trait Snow inherited considering the way we saw Snow behave in Season 2.
Finally, I was pleased to see Snow and Regina find each other again so to speak. A mature and healthy relationship bet. the two hasn’t been possible till they got all the crap out of their systems and this latest revelation shows that (in the main) the family is on the mend.

Nice catch! I really hope we get some backstory on Robin Hood in season 4 & find out about the Lion tatoo. I think he might be royalty too like the rightful heir to a kingdom sent into hiding.
Good catch! I think you’re on to something. He’s a commoner in the earliest ballads and the like, but over time it became pretty common for Robin to be the Lord of Loxley or the Earl of Huntington who had his lands wrongfully taken from him (sometimes while he’s off fighting in the crusades with Richard the Lionheart, though he could have easily been fighting in the ogre wars or some such) by some combination of the Sheriff of Nottingham/Guy of Gisborne/Prince John. Here’s hoping for season 4 backstory!

and in the story of robin hood prince john was robins enemy and in 3×18 Johnathan got out a handkerchief with the royal crest on it which was a lion

what if this little link or clue has something to do with robins back story ?!?!I guess if there’s gonna be a backstory between Jonathan and Robin, it’d have to be with an older Jonathan, because Robin’s from the Regina generation, not the Cora generation, but I could definitely see them doing a story where Regina’s soulmate has an antagonistic history with the father of her half sister.
He really is the phony king, isn’t he? While Robin is out with King Richard this imposter sets himself up as King John. Robin has to take back the throne for his king by becoming an outlaw.

In the stories of robin hood that I’ve read/heard Richard was the rightful king. He and Robin went to fight in the crusades. In Richard’s place his younger brother Prince John ruled in his stead. Robin came home and his home of Loxley was taken from him. To get food he killed a boar on the king’s land which made him an outlaw, which is why he stayed in Sherwood Forrest.
Now whether Prince John and Jonathan are the same person, remains to be known.

Robin is from Sherwood Forest which we now know is south of Regina’s castle. Regina/Snow’s castle is in the northern kingdom. So Jonathan or whom ever he got the handkerchief from could be just from the same kingdom as Robin. Robin could just be honoring the kingdom he’s from with his tattoo or he used it to sneek into areas so he & his merry men can steal the royal blind. :o)
