t might be Hook in this picture but it looks like Rumple.
It is Rumple. That is most definitely my Imp in his leather.

Neal Cassidy. The name= “The Peter Pan of our generation.”-Yeah. The 3rd generation Pan!
Rumple’s father was known as the town coward. Like others have mentioned, if he is Pan, his cowardice was not wanting to grow up and take care of his family. He abandoned family. Peter Pan himself hates being called a coward. All this time many of us have thought it was a nod to Neal being PP with the whole “my father’s a coward” thing, but really, it just went down the family line!Anyone else have anything to add? Anything we were using and noticed about parallels/nods with the PP story that, in hindsight, would point to PP as Rumple’s father? I had a really long list about 2 hours ago. Unfortunately I can’t seem to concentrate now that I’ve finished dinner!
Also, seriously, perfect casting.

November 11, 2013 at 9:40 pm #223085rumbelledearieParticipantI wonder how the flashback will relate to the present. I can see how young Rumple wanting his father to be a better person/father parallels with Bae wanting the same from Rumple, but the focus in NL in this episode seems to be Henry and Wendy, so I wonder how the two stories will come together.
If it IS Neal, Emma, Regina and Rumple who go after Henry, how come Regina says she needs help with magic and Emma has to step in? Where’s Rumple? Unless by that time Rumple and Neal are off doing something else. Or maybe Neal and Rumple are trying to find Wendy when that happens (Neal for obvious reasons and Rumple cause he told Belle he would).
Didn’t see Malcolm coming lol, idk if that’ll be Gold’s first name but if it is it’s definitely different lol.

I really liked Slurpeez idea when she came up with it, but now that it’s Malcolm I’m sorta “eh. They could have done a lot better”

OY.VEY. 😮

Basically there’s a well from “Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens” and the story features someone named Malcolm the Bold. Here’s the excerpt off that page but there might have been something I missed as well!
Next comes St. Govor’s Well, which was full of water when Malcolm the Bold fell into it. He was his mother’s favourite, and he let her put her arm round his neck in public because she was a widow; but he was also partial to adventures, and liked to play with a chimney-sweep who had killed a good many bears. The sweep’s name was Sooty, and one day, when they were playing near the well, Malcolm fell in and would have been drowned had not Sooty dived in and rescued him; and the water had washed Sooty clean, and he now stood revealed as Malcolm’s long-lost father. So Malcolm would not let his mother put her arm round his neck any more.
It’s…very strange but at least it does connect to Pan in some way shape or form?

Malcolm Gold just doesn’t sound fan fic worthy. Belle will call him Mal. And that just makes me think of another fandom.
Why am I so concerned about this? lol. Maybe cause I was really hoping for Adam, Lucien or Damion.
(and this is all headcanon of course so maybe it will remain that way)

Well that’s gonna make the Rumple/Bae portal scene a frillion times more painful to re-watch in the future.
I didn’t see any credits for a brother or other young boy. So, I’m thinking that sort of squashes the Rumple/Pan/Bro theory.
I don’t think it squashes anything yet, because I never expected there to be a younger Pan cast. If they’re brothers, I always just expected we’d see a flashback to Pan looking the same age he is now, around the time he went to NL.
Maybe Rumple seeks out the way to get a fresh start, and maybe that fresh start includes he and his father getting away from his bully of an older brother. Older brother figures out what’s going on, takes the magical item for himself and ends up in NL for his own fresh start. Maybe he even takes their father with him out of spite, and leaves baby brother behind just like baby brother was intending to leave HIM behind. So Rumple becomes an orphan and goes to live with the spinsters.
It could still go the other way given the 311 set photos, but to my mind, the Brothers theory still makes more sense, and I think it’d be odd if they just ignored that whole plot point from Barrie’s original where Pan has a younger brother, and he feels replaced, which plays a significant role in him going to NL. I’m sure it’ll be a great story however they’ve written it, but I’m sticking to TeamBrothers until the bitter end.
Have they ever notably left out actors who do make a small appearance? I would so love it if Blue would up being the one who gave Rumble the item, whatever it is. (Hmm. Maybe the doll?) Would be an interesting parallel to when she later gives Bae the bean.
Don’t think there’s been an instance where anyone’s been left off. I agree, an appearance by Blue in this storyline would be perfect.
We know Tink and Neal are working with everyone else so I don’t see why they didn’t include them in this line unless they don’t actually go up against Pan but are working on some side thing while the others end up going straight to where Pan is. Either way it makes NO sense. BOTH should have been included in that AND/OR there should have been a line mentioning what they WERE doing because most of the others are accounted for!
I know why. It has to do with Marketing. The marketing depo of ABC and the writing team of ABC are two totally different things with different agenda and strategies. The job of the marketing depo is to sell the show to advertisers for money. They could care less about the actual plot, they want to know how to sell the show. And sexy jungle romp is a classic. Will there be any sexy fun time? No, Emma has just told both of them this. But ABC marketing just wants to say, “advertisers look! smoulder time!”
Pretty much. It’d be great if Kat’s idea about a side mission to save Wendy proves true, but considering the official Twitter account for the show doesn’t even respect the character of Neal enough to bother spelling his name correctly, I’m pretty cynical when it comes to their non-promotion of the character. *sigh*

Kat, you’re on fire tonight! The well is just like NL’s healing springs. Both clean (heal). A character is being revealed as a father. It’s really pointing at Pan being Malcolm.

TeamBrothers until this show tells me otherwise. *stubborn*

To me it makes about 100000000% more sense than some sort of trippy de-aged father who is going by Peter and Rumple doesn’t recognize as his father. That just seems..forced. Whatever the story I know Robbie and Bobby will kill it but…yeah. TeamBrothers until the end.
