We know that Rumple thinks his father left him. But what if Malcom just got turned into PP as the result of Pandora’s box gone awry? That would make Rumple be Luke Skywalker.
And then PP came back as a childhood friend for Rumple, the entire time PP knowing that he was Rumple’s father? And then PP was–what–called back to NL because he was beginning to age slowly and didn’t want to show Rumple that he was really his father de-aged.
Let’s say that is true (it’s possible) how does Henry fit in?
Magic is dying so PP is aging meaning he’ll turn back into Malcolm and…what? Die? I guess that fits. Maybe.

Every time Rumple or someone else (like the Seer) brings up Rumple’s father they say that Malcolm abandoned him. It’s always “he left me” or “he abandoned me” or his promise to baby Bae that he’d never abandon him like his papa did.
But I guess that doesn’t mean that he has all the correct information. Rumple only knows his own side of the story.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 12, 2013 at 1:46 pm #223213MatthewPaulModeratorAs much as people aren’t keen on the Pan=Papastiltskin theory, I do have to mention how they specifically said “fresh start” in the press release, in regards to what will happen between Rumple and his dad. “Fresh start” to me implies that Malcolm is de-aged, hence a fresh start. It’s also likely that if Pan is Malcolm, he doesn’t initially have those memories if ever. Normally when a person is de-aged, they lose their memories from past the age they revert back to.

What I mean is, if Rumple did not want to reveal his father chose youth over him, he might dance around he subject of how he was abandoned and how he knew Pan. I like brothers better, especially with Pan not wanting to raise Rumple when father leaves.

* coughs * Firefly.
On a separate note: whoever is in charge of casting seriously deserves an award.
Wyatt – young Rumpelstiltskin
Robert – Adult Rumpelstiltskin
Young Robert Carlyle
Jared Gilmore

I’m firmly TeamBrothers, and not getting the Pan = PapaStiltskin angle. I mean, why describe him as the biggest evil in the world (season 2 finale)? Why be convinced he must die to defeat Pan?
It just doesn’t make sense for what Rumple has said about Pan to fit the father theory. But if they are brothers, equal in magic (latent or acquired) then it does.
November 12, 2013 at 11:57 pm #223404PheeParticipantIt’s also likely that if Pan is Malcolm, he doesn’t initially have those memories if ever.
But then how does he remember stuff like how Rumple likes his eggs? Because if the de-aged father thing proves true, I’m guessing it spelled the end of their relationship, (with Pan going to NL pretty much immediately after, perhaps actually at the exact same time), so there were no more shared breakfasts after that point. We’ve seen with August that being de-aged takes away your memories, so you’d think that Malcolm being de-aged to the age he was when Rumple was born, (if the teen father thing were true), or even younger, would wipe out any memories that he had of Rumple’s life, like how he likes his eggs.
Also, just on the name thing, unless Malcolm changed his name, he can’t be the same person as Peter Pan. I know it’s been discussed before that Peter and Rumplestiltskin is an odd pair of names if the same people (their parents) named them both. But I could see if is name was originally just Peter, and when he went to NL, he added the Pan on because he got himself a god complex. Why would someone named Malcolm completely rename himself Peter Pan?
PS. Yes, the casting department are freaking geniuses. I swear they have facial recognition software that they run actors’ headshots through.
November 13, 2013 at 12:34 am #223414thebassgalParticipantI don’t buy the Pan = Papastiltskin either. If that were the case, his own great-grandson is the heart of the truest believer? Seems too easy. Why would he have to go through all the lost boys looking for the right boy? Not sure if I’m onboard TeamBrothers either. I still think Pan is Blue’s son, likely adopted. And Pan was not always evil, but precocious. Blue being sneaky fairy, had Pandora’s box but told Pan not to open it. He opened Pandora’s box and the evil inside the box was so intense that it ripped his shadow from him, thus creating the Shadow. United as one, the shadow and Pan aren’t any worse than an angsty teenager. Seperated and imbued with evil, they’re dangerous. I dunno…crack theory. Still trying to piece in the Pied Piper aspect.
