The casting call for Rumple’s father did say: “dissatisfied, self-centered and ruthless”

Exactly, Malcolm has the same characteristics as Peter Pan.

So, Pan’s been dying for centuries now or is it just getting worse now because no on believes in magic?

Keeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. My spreadsheet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6r8CySCCWd9R0RUNm4xR3RhMEU/view?usp=sharing

Good point. Henry nearly dying is becoming a repeating theme.
So, Pan’s been dying for centuries now or is it just getting worse now because no on believes in magic?
I think it might’ve been a gradual thing…which is why he’s been looking for the heart of the truest believer for so long (200 years+).
…is pan a fairy? a boy fairy?
Hmmmm….I dunno if he’s actually a fairy, but not believing in him might result in him dying just as not believing in a fairy in the original PP tale causes that fairy to die.

A greedy old man who wants to cheat death through magic. He’s like the Skeksis in the Dark Crystal feeding off the power of the crystal and squeezing the essence out of Podlings and Gelflings to keep their youth. Except in Pan’s case I suspect he’s been feeding off Neverland’s magic to stay alive and Henry is the equiv. of the Great Conjunction.

If Henry is symbolic of belief then his constant brushes with death are symbolic of belief itself almost being wiped out.

Aww.

Aww…so maybe Pan is somehow related to the Blue Fairy afterall. B/c when she said that she didn’t believe in Tinkerbell anymore, she lost her wings. Makes sense the demon child that is Pan would come from Sneaky Fairy, who we all know has an evil agenda. Lol.
I hope the curse created a really good life insurance plan for Henry because it sounds like he really needs one.
- A plan that covers eating magical poisoned apple turnovers.
We have that covered.
- A plan that covers saving the kid while a magical self-destruct diamond destroys an entire town.
We have that covered.
- A plan to protects his heart from being taken.
We have that covered.
- A plan that prevents his heart from being taken and being put into the most dangerous, demon child Peter Pan, so he can be immortal forever and rule the world?
….
We don’t cover that.

Perhaps. Maybe magic overall isn’t dying…just the dark magic that extends Malcolm’s life.
