Henry: Have you learned?
Rumple (very hesitantly) and shrugs: It’s a gradual experience.[adrotate group="5"]October 10, 2014 at 12:51 am #284919PheeParticipantI wonder if some of that conversation was a foreshadowing of things to come. Rumple’s reference to Henry having the lineage of the Dark One and the blood of the Savior sounded like it was put there for a reason, foretelling a future story. Time will tell.
Indeed, which is a reason it should have been kept. Also, let’s not worry about giving some on screen emotional development to Henry, nope he’s not that important.
Honestly I’m not sure if I’m more irritated that an important, character building moment was cut, or that the scene didn’t mention Neal. He’s Henry’s father, Rumple’s son, and the conversation is about Henry forgetting a parent and the burden of Rumple’s mistakes, and A&E have said that Neal won’t be forgotten, yet he gets NO mention in this scene. If he wasn’t mentioned in THIS scene then he’ll never be mentioned in any other and A&E are full of it.
*flips table for multiple reasons*
October 10, 2014 at 7:06 am #284922ladyParticipantI like that Rumple/Henry scene. It’s a shame we didn’t see it in the episode. Henry was accting like a typical teenager and Rumple was this wise Grampa. I’d love to see them bonding.

And let things unfold as they ought to – of course Rumple says something like that. Fate, destiny – but have hope that fate, destiny has something good for you written in the book of doom, you can’t change it, but you can hope for the best. Medieval philosophy.

I’ve refrained from commenting on this deleted scene except in other places I agree with @Phee. I also flipped many table upon seeing this.

You expected consistency?

Have heard somewhere, this show is about hope, so, keeping up hope, I guess. 😛

October 10, 2014 at 12:32 pm #284965The Swan PrincessParticipantOn one hand I’m glad they cut this scene. It’s completly illogical that Regina doesn’t want to see Henry for a few days so he decides that he wants to forget her and his entire life?!? I mean seriously?
On the other hand it seems like they’re cutting every scene that has deep conversations and character developement for the sake of PLOT. It just sucks.
You know what I can't continue with the dead people brought back to life list I'm out of space in the signature and now we have an underworld arc this is to much I quit why do you bring so many people back to life OUAT WHHHYYYY
October 10, 2014 at 4:17 pm #284982PriceofMagicParticipantI wish they had kept both of these deleted scenes in. We could’ve done with less of Anna and Charming.
The Regina scene shows that Snow was given the mayor position by Regina rather than her just taking it.
The Rumple/Henry scene was a nice scene. I liked how Rumple kind shrugged and said “it’s a gradual process”. Henry’s reaction was a little extreme and disappointing that the reason he wanted to forget was because Regina said she didn’t want to see him. WR was right, Henry can give it out but he can’t take it.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixOctober 10, 2014 at 4:36 pm #284986PanTheManParticipantI actually didn’t like the scene between Henry and Rumple, and that’s not just because Neal wasn’t mention once, but that is part of it.
Henry’s motivation for coming to see Rumple seemed too out of character for Henry. Wanting his fake memories back? What? I get that he was made at his mom and hurting. He took it personally that Regina didn’t want to see him. He’s young, he’s allowed to do that – make something about him that’s not really about him. Kids can be melodramatic.
But wanting to forget Regina? That makes no sense. Through every situation, Henry has held on to hope more so than any other character. For him to suddenly lose hope like that felt out of character to me. In season 1, Henry didn’t just forget about Emma when she put up her walls. I was a little insulted (for Regina) that Henry would’ve so easily forgotten her if Rumple had been willing to help out with the magic.
