I like the idea that they are showing the deleted scenes now vs waiting for the DVD. It seems like there may end up being more deleted scenes then what we’ve been given on the DVDs

She did ask him to do just that in episode 321. He refused, saying that the whole point was that he trusts her. And she doesn’t dare let it leave her side since she knows the risk should someone take it. And yes, that was still with the fake dagger.
Two things this scene does set up: How carefully Hook was watching the dagger action and the possibility that Rumple’s jar of dirt will come up later. Hook’s noticing/guessing about the dagger didn’t need the extra setup though, and if the jar of dirt comes up later, they can explain it in a sentence (or a few words–“because I do!”).
It’s not as harsh a cut as others (though it WOULD have given Belle a tiny bit more screentime, grr. Also, a good look at her outfit).
