ONCE UPON A TIME – “Family Business” – The race is on to track down the elusive Snow Queen, who was once a foster mother to a young Emma – whose memories of this event have been erased – in order to discover what her ultimate end game is for Elsa and the residents of Storybrooke, and unaware that she does not possess the real blade that controls The Dark One, Belle attempts to use it to get her reluctant husband to show her where the Snow Queen is hiding. Meanwhile, back in the past, Belle travels to Arendelle and, with Anna’s help, seeks out Grand Pabbie to help her regain her lost memories in order to discover the fate of her mother, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

October 27, 2014 at 6:27 pm #287762RumplesGirlKeymasterWhy does Belle want to find where the Snow Queen is…???

It’s kind of badly worded but it sounds like Belle’s helping Anna with lost memories; not the other way around.

That makes Elsa, Emma and Belle all victims of amnesia. How much do you want to bet Belle’s memory loss was due to the Snow Queen? I’m starting to think that theory that Belle’s mom was the third sister of the Queen of Arendelle and the Snow Queen might prove to be true. Why else would Belle be in Arendelle?

I disagree. I think that the way it’s worded is clear.
Meanwhile, back in the past, Belle travels to Arendelle and, with Anna’s help, seeks out Grand Pabbie to help her regain her lost memories in order to discover the fate of her mother
The possessive pronoun “her” refers back to Belle, not Anna. Also, what happened to Belle’s mother has been a longstanding mystery, whereas we already know that both Anna’s mom and dad were lost at sea. So if it were Belle helping Anna to regain her memories, rather than the other way around, then the synopsis would likely read “discover the fate of her mother and father.” Plus, it’s clear from the pictures for 3×6 that Belle’s mom features in this episode.
So my conclusion is that Belle in the present day has lost her memories of whatever happened to her mom. (And let’s face it, Belle’s mom probably died in this episode just as almost every fairytale character’s mom in the history of fairytales has died).

The whole premise of the show from day one was that lots of chars had amnesia of some sort, so it’s not surprising, but it is getting a little repetitive.
Keeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. My spreadsheet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6r8CySCCWd9R0RUNm4xR3RhMEU/view?usp=sharing

Yeah. It does seem to be getting old. First season everyone but Emma, Henry, Regina, Rumple, August and Jefferson were cursed with false memories. Second season, Belle had amnesia and was cursed as Lacey. Season three, Emma and Henry were “blessed” with false memories. Fourth season, Elsa, Emma and Belle all have memory loss. It’s an often used plot device.

October 27, 2014 at 11:29 pm #287816CindersParticipantWell, since I’ve never lived with magical people, I had no idea that memory loss was such a common occurrence.
I still think that a living witch, like Zelena, cast a spell over the Snow Queen that nobody who spoke to her would remember her, thus, she would never find love, or family. This is why nobody remembers, or knows her.
But, when that witch died, the spell was broken. And now, everyone remembers only recent convos with her, but not convos from the past.
Also why she doesn’t appear in the census, yet there is that picture that indicates she’s been in Storybrooke from the beginning. So far, the only person who seems to know her from the past is…guess who…Gold.
Crack theory
October 27, 2014 at 11:58 pm #287819PheeParticipantI doubt the Dagger secret will be revealed in this ep, because Bobby said the crap hits the fan for Rumple around ep 9 and 10. He’ll probably bluff his way out of this new situation, make like he really doesn’t know where The Snow Queen is hiding out, make Belle believe he’s telling the truth, just add some more lies onto the pile.
Why does Belle want to find where the Snow Queen is…???
Maybe she remembers having run into her in Arendelle?
