I know demons, angels, gods, and goddesses are a part of a Judeo/Christian/Greek worldview, but I’d prefer it if the writers just stuck with traditional fairytale characters. Even the addition of Dr. Frankenstein seemed like a bad idea at the time, and guess what, it still does. The addition of zombies was also a mistake. I know Greek mythology has a way of getting incorporated (e.g. King Midas and Medusa), but this addition just seems like a possible misstep to me.

Yes. That RumBelle clip is from Kansas after Zelena’s defeat before Rumple kills her.

Yep, it’s definitely Chernabog appearing in 412. Called it.

I’ve been calling it for 2 seasons. Now I finally can say I saw him…and I’ll be a happy camper.

Not for nothing….Frankestein’s full title is “Frankestein or: The Modern Prometheus” from Shelley’s reading of Ovid

I tend to agree that Dr. Frankenstein in the show was poorly executed (mostly due to poor acting on the part of Gerhert and the father–oooooooof) but there aren’t strict lines given the ever present cultural influences

And like I said up thread, the writers could very well never call this thing “demon” or even Chernabog. It’ll just be some magical creature that look enough like Disney’s Chernabog for everyone to make the connection

Like I said, though, demons/devils are in fairy tales. Just to name a few Grimm fairytale titles:

The Devil With the Three Golden Hairs
    The Devil’s Sooty Brother
    The Devil and His Grandmother
The Lord’s Animals and the Devil’s
    The Peasant and the Devil

Yes those are all real Grimm fairy tales, obscure or not.

Well if My Little Pony Equestria Girls  can get away with using the word Demon so can ONCE….Also I now have a theory that Chernabog is …THE GUARDIAN OF THE DAGGER!

If this demon truly is Chernabog then I am very disappointed.

This demon seems puny and pathetic compared with the cartoon version. He does not seem like the imposing manipulator and controller of souls that we saw on Fantasia. He does not at all look like the ultimate evil.

I am still holding out hope that it is an ordinary demon whose design was simply inspired by Chernabog.

However, in my heart I know that 4b is going to be as disastrous as 3a and 4a.

Am I the only one who is disappointed?

Also on page 5 on this thread I put forward that this demon thingy was conjured up by one for QoD. Turns out I wasn’t far off.
