They’ve managed to break my OutlawQueen Heart in that third sneak peek, but I’m finding it hard to believe that Regina just turned around to go pick up the page pieces, and taped it back together!

–Nothing much to say
Peek #3
–How can she have heard from him, Emma? Do you think he sent a letter to a town that no one can find or get to?
–Regina, you’re hunting for the author of this book with Emma as a team, and you didn’t bother to tell her about the magically appearing page until *now* several weeks after the fact? Okay then

On the plus side, I’m excited to see this episode.
All magic comes with a price!

Well we already know contact by phone and internet from Storybrooke to the rest of the world is possible because Regina contacted Social Services in “True North”, and both Greg and Neal were still able to call Tamara from within Storybrooke. Emma also called Snow, while she was in Manhattan right after she found Neal. I guess Regina could have given Robin a cell phone, though wouldn’t they have kept in touch more if she had? Either way, Emma probably assumed she had a way of contacting Robin.
As for Regina not telling Emma about the page, could be it felt too personal for her to want to share right away, even though it was a vital piece of evidence in regards to Operation Mongoose. Or, the episode might have started with scenes during the 6 week timeskip. If this is after the 6 weeks, simplest answer is that the passage of time is being overlooked for the sake of the audience, as I doubt casual viewers would go “Wait, wouldn’t this have been brought up 6 weeks ago?”

I feel like that taping the page back together is something Henry could have done. If it was Regina, then why use tape when you can use magic to make it look all pretty again?

Said Regina. We don’t actually know if that was a thing that really happened?
as I doubt casual viewers would go “Wait, wouldn’t this have been brought up 6 weeks ago?”
Well of course. But as none of us fall into that category, I’m allowed to point it out. Personal or not, it’s a valid thinkg to ask given that the finale ended with Emma and Regina being all chummy and #GoTeam about finding the author. A page magically appearing that might help you in that mission? Rather vital.

She still managed to arrange for a boys home and a girls home for Nicholas and Eva (Hansel and Gretel), and wanted Emma to drop them off in Boston. Point still stands that contact by phone from Storybrooke to the outside world is possible according to the other instances I pointed out. It’s never been established that it wasn’t possible.

Yes, I know. Which is why my original point was about a letter not a cell phone because a cell phone is a whole other mess of issues.
First, has Robin been in our world long enough to understand what a cell phone is or does? He was still living in the woods in SB, like ye olden days.
Second, Regina could poof a cell phone into existence (I suppose) but all cell phones are connected to some sort of company–Verizon, ATT, ect–and they issue you your phone number. So…did some phone company just have their memories altered so that they aren’t questioning why a cell phone with a number they never gave out is making call on their carrier? Where do they send the bills? Did she poof a phone charger into existence as well? Does Robin know how to use one of those? Did she poof in a data plan as well so that Robin can make long distance phone calls (while, of course, altering the phone companies records and employees so they aren’t confused why now a cell phone with a number that is from them but that they did not give out is suddenly making long distance phone calls…?)
Third, Regina never explicitly states that she gave RH a cell phone–money yes. Clothing, food, directions, or knowledge of the working world, no. Now, this is ONCE so most things are not stated explicitly. But she did go out of her way to say that she gave them money so why not also say, “oh and here is a phone. My number pops up when you hit 1. Call me when you get someplace so I know that you didn’t bleed out or starve on the road getting to some unknown destination. No you don’t need a map or car. You have two legs, god Robin!”
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"February 25, 2015 at 7:31 pm #296860Jenna_BParticipantI agree with you MP, it has always been my understanding they were capable of communicating outside of Storybrooke during the curses. When Emma and Henry returned in 3B, Henry was using his phone – if he was going to do pretty much anything on a phone, he’d need access to the internet in some form… If Robin’s been in the ‘real world,’ especially New York, for 6 weeks, he knows how to get his hands on a cell phone. Throw a rock and you’ll find a hole in the wall to buy a burner phone at the very least. So I think Emma’s question and Regina’s response was (heartbreakingly) valid.
I’m glad Regina was in full sass mode in that 2nd sneak peek….it’s one of my favorite things about her. I know most people have a love it or hate it attitude toward Emma and Regina bonding, but I’m looking forward to Henry and his two moms having working on the same project together, finally.
Cruella….still not really feeling her, but that might be because the whole 101 Dalmations thing seriously creeped me out. The ‘breathing her pups into submission thing’ was a new level of weird – has she been magical in other versions of her story?
February 25, 2015 at 8:04 pm #296866WickedRegalParticipantWell…he certainly knew how to call her in 4×08 Smash The Mirror!
I’d say Regina taught him everything about cell phones…and if the second curse poofed him clothes, it probably poofed him a phone too.
