I realize Rumple likes to take on mannerisms and such, according to the location he’s visiting but that accent in that clip, sounds so ridiculous!
At least we know now what that elixir thing is. Rumple’s heart is breaking, or wounded. Can’t say I feel bad for him when he everything that resulted in his banishment in the 4A finale (which he rightfully deserved). If Rumple even dies this season, I doubt I’d feel bad for him.
April 6, 2015 at 6:12 pm #300920PriceofMagicParticipantRumple’s cockney accent returns. He’s used it before on the show. I presume this takes place before Lacey since Robin doesn’t know Rumple at this point and he’s not an outlaw yet?

I disagree. I think Rumple does have sympathetic motivations for doing what he did ie Neal dying and his treatment at the hands of Zelena but the show doesn’t want to remember Neal even existed so they’re going for the “because he’s evil” route rather than the actual truth. Also whilst what Rumple did was wrong, Hook also instigated it by trying to blackmail Rumple for his hand and then threatening to break Belle’s heart if he didn’t do what Hook wanted. Rumple just turned the tables on him. I would probably feel more sympathy for Hook if he hadn’t gone back for a second blackmail attempt.

Anyway, if he’s suggesting Robin should do it for a girl, that would say it has to happen before he’s married to Marian–though perhaps after they met, given that he’s “reformed” here. That’s my guess on the timeline.

April 6, 2015 at 6:27 pm #300923obisgirlParticipantBut does Rumple feel bad for what he did to Belle? Does he?!! Because the writers have not shown us a scene where he actually expresses that he’s sorry for what he did to her. All he’s done since coming back is stalk Belle and violate her most important relationships, thinking that Will stole Belle when she had every right to move on and find her happiness.
I would be shocked if at the end of this arc that Rumple’s motivation for what he’s doing is for Belle. But I think ultimately, it’s so he can have it all. Power and Belle. I mean, one of the first acts back was take back the dagger from Belle by giving a poor imitation of his arch nemesis.
IMO, the difference between Rumple and Hook is regret. Rumple didn’t show any in 4A. Hook did, time and again, even after he knew what he did was wrong.
April 6, 2015 at 6:30 pm #300924PriceofMagicParticipantThis being before Lacey could be how Robin knew to steal the wand from Rumple, though that then questions why Rumple didn’t know it was Robin in Lacey, and if it is after Lacey then why didn’t Rumple or Robin recognise each other? This could be another timeline screw up.

Well, one article mentioned that we’ll apparently get an in-show reason to explain the Tom Ellis Robin Hood from Season 2, and why he didn’t have a lion tattoo. Maybe Robin somehow disguised himself with magic, so Rumple wouldn’t recognize him when trying to steal his wand?
April 6, 2015 at 6:51 pm #300931RumplesGirlKeymasterThat accent is just bizarre. I know he’s used it before but it’s not one I overly enjoy.
“that’s a ridiculously explanatory name” I just LOLed so hard! That’s so “writer insert” for their stupid names of curses and such that pretty much spell out exactly what they are.
Rumple’s heart is breaking, or wounded.
Yup

Forever *twitching* over that still. There is no reason to try and explain it. Especially since Belle recognized Sean even though she only met Tom

Okay, I think the way they’re going to explain this is that there’s two Robin Hood’s. I think it was the E! article that specified Sean’s Robin Hood is just Robin Hood and not Robin of Loxley, which is the traditional Robin Hood most of us know. Which is still odd considering there’s only one Marian and we’ve seen both Sean’s Robin and Tom’s Robin with the same actress.
April 6, 2015 at 7:03 pm #300933PriceofMagicParticipantRumple deals with names though. If he met Robin here then why did he need the sheriff to tell him Robin’s name in Lacey?
