Well, I mean, my theory makes somewhat sense when Henry is clearly still around. The past technically isn’t altered, so Henry’s birth isn’t retconned.
So is the AU happening in real time?
I am totally stoked for all of this.

Is Charming playing the AU version of the Huntsman?
What’s happening with Emma screaming while she’s chained up inside a tower?
Where does the door the Apprentice is opening in front of Isaac lead? It totally looks like Narnia LOL
Can’t wait to watch the finale!
May 3, 2015 at 10:12 pm #303639MatthewPaulModeratorNow that I think about it, Rumple being a brave knight in this reality actually does make sense, given what we know of his past. Back in the flashback seen in “Manhattan”, Rumple actually wanted to fight in the Ogres War and be a hero. However, he was too afraid of dying on the battlefield and leaving his son fatherless, so he injured himself to escape from the battlefield. Of course we all know he would want his son back in this new “happy ending”, but if it turns out that the Author can’t make that happen, then being a brave hero and being together with Belle would be an ideal compromise. Though what fascinates me is that he could have went the route of still being an all powerful wizard with no dagger curse, but it doesn’t look like that is the case. So could the human side of Rumple truly want to be courageous without having to hide behind his magic?
May 3, 2015 at 11:27 pm #303663PheeParticipantOMG they’re actually gonna style Ginny’s hair in a way that doesn’t look hideous?! (They make her look horrible in SB these days, she should stick to being evil, looks much better on her.)
May 4, 2015 at 12:04 am #303671SlurpeezParticipantHoly moley! So Snow White is Snow Black, and Charming is her sex-slave (a la Evil Queen and the Huntsman). Emma is their off-spring, but rather than being the product of true love, she’s Darkness Incarnate. Hmmm. So much for the “darkness isn’t born” mantra in this AU. Hook is still a swashbuckler? And Rumple is a knight in shining armor. Okay. Here it comes. And I guess Regina is a Snow White figure in love with a stable boy (or Robin Hood). How is Belle still Belle (since last I checked she was a hero in the original timeline)? Shouldn’t Belle be a villain like Snow Black?

Yeah…if this is Rumple’s happy ending (which it is), then I fully expect to see 14-year-old Baelfire. Why wouldn’t Isaac be able to give Rumple what he always wanted (to raise his son)? And…yeah, wouldn’t Rumple still want magic, even if it’s good magic? And if Rumple is not the dark one, how is he even alive? He should’ve died 300 years before Belle was born. And how is Hook alive if he never went back to Neverland to seek revenge on Rumple for killing Milha? Small details…but ever so important.

Doubt it, though. He was born in present EF…not the past. He’s being written as if the Rumple we knew never exited. So Bae doesn’t exist because he was never with Milah

Read this theory I posted on the last page:
From what I gather, what is happening with this AU is that the past isn’t technically changed, but rather personalities and memories are suddenly changed. Isaac is starting this new story from a clean slate with the characters he is writing about. After all, this is a new book entirely entitled “Heroes and Villains”, rather than altering the original “Once Upon a Time” book.
I also mentioned how this would also explain why Henry’s birth isn’t retconned, if the past isn’t literally altered to make this AU work.

Ugh. So Baelfire was never even born in this AU? Yeah, Henry had better fix that, pronto, because his very existence is at stake now.

Not if what I said in the post above you turns out to be the case. That would mean that Henry’s existence wouldn’t be erased because this AU isn’t literally changing the past.
