Just being nitpicky because im bored but…
-Arent ogres blind? How’d it see Henry all tied up there?I’m presuming Ogres can still smell so it probably smelled him especially as he wouldn’t smell like the EF. Also Henry started shouting so that probably got the ogre’s attention as well. It’s also possible that, since ogre’s hunt by sound, they might use echolocation like bats, they seem to roar a lot.

May 9, 2015 at 10:13 am #304327WickedRegalParticipantBut….Patrick Fishler seems to be under the impression that The Author can write people back alive, and I’d have to agree….if he can write people out, surely he can write them in. Perhaps he was just agreeing with Rumple that he couldn’t just so he wouldn’t agitate Rumple.
The Author had a history with Cruella. Do you think this had any effect on him?
Fischler: Absolutely. I think, sort of her mom telling him to get out there and live life and then he took a chance on Cruella, and their relationship. I think being betrayed by her gave him a real push to come out of his shell a little bit. Whether that’s good or bad. I think it absolutely had a huge effect on him.
I think he really, really cared about her. And still in my mind, I couldn’t have loved working with Victoria [Smurfit] more. She is a complete doll, and so amazingly talented. The two of them have to have a spin-off or something.
Perhaps, he can write Cruella back in!
Fischler: Exactly.

It’s perfectly logical.
I don’t know where people got the impression that the Author can break the rules of magic in the first place.
May 9, 2015 at 1:51 pm #304344Ranisha PittsParticipantIt seems that logic and rules are enforced at whim in regards to OUAT. I can help think If this was Emma or Regina who perhaps died then suddenly the writer would have the ability to write them in the story.
I am with Phee on this, it just seems like a clever (or not so clever ) way to address the elephant in the room and remind why this elephant can not be seen in the rewrite. I don’t think its really that deep. That is just my unimportant opinion on the subject.

I don’t really think that anyone was really under the belief that the Author could suddenly change/break the laws of magic. It’s more that the rules that the Onciverse operate under are incredibly…non existent. Or rather, they exist but there are a million loopholes, usually centered around a plot device that suddenly and inexplicably allows a character to break a rule that was heretofore unbreakable for no other reason than that the out-of-story show runners want it to be broken. A magical pen that can change memories and situations and apparently even history (in which Regina is not the EQ and Snow loved James and in this case that Bae died as a young boy but being proud of his papa) is keeping with the Onceiverse’s aversion to strict laws of magic and their own world building while simultaneously speaking to its ability to embrace plot devices as way to change what the show runners desire, willy nilly style.

Isaac saying “This quill and Ink CAN only change a past it has created.” is more than just an impression.
It’s a confirmation that ANYTHING, even death, can be changed by the quill & ink that originally created it. Why? Because Isaac said it CAN.
Written word now trumps any rules of magic IT has created.

May 9, 2015 at 4:41 pm #304352TheGoldenKeyParticipantI get that many of us will see all the recent references about NealFire differently.
Some will see it as A&E finally acknowledging his death and firmly cementing in concrete.
Some will see it as a foreshadowing of things to come with a possibility of resurrecting NealFire.
However, what I don’t get is how something so important as Isaac saying that a quill & ink can, in fact, change the past it has created can be overlooked and discounted so easily.
Those words were extremely important and they literally made me stop and say “Woah!” out loud. It’s a game changer and I don’t think A&E would have thrown those words out so cavalierly. Not when they themselves have said this finale is a game changer.
