The episode is definitely a two-parter, for sure. No confirmation yet if 4×21/4×22 will air on the same night like what they did with 3×21/3×22.

I think they will because 1) The Sunday night lineup is being pre-empted for Easter Sunday. 2) With the way the scheduling looks, Secrets and Lies will end a week before Once and Revenge, which would open up a slot for a 2 hour finale to happen. ABC should be announcing their finale dates soon based on when they did the past few years, so we’ll know for sure then.

This also leans towards my suspicion that Adam and Eddy are writing both 421 and 422, as they didn’t write the 19th episode like they did for Seasons 2 and 3. And considering that they have always written the Season finale, it seems like a safe bet that they are writing 422, too.

And I was just wondering why Adam & Eddy haven’t written a middle-of-arc episode yet – they’re writing both parts of the finale!

This makes me really happy, as I can’t wait to see this storyline play out.

This is…odd. I would have thought Operation Moongoose (finding the author?) would have already been in full effect episodes before 421 and that maybe finding the sorcerer would be the big deal for the last two or three episodes. Hmm. Which episode does the Peddler appear in again?

Hm. Well. Okay. Not sure I like it, but I guess it fits.

I still can’t get over how stupid “Operation Mongoose” sounds. Yes, I get it, natural enemy of the Cobra, though that in itself makes it weird seeing Emma be all, “YAY GO TEAM MONGOOSE” considering it was named specifically because it was a revenge challenge name because Regina’s resentful over Operation Cobra which was a thing Emma bonded with Henry over. But even all that aside, how is a silly sounding word like “mongoose” supposed to be taken seriously and how is “Operation Mongoose” meant to be said with a straight face?

I sorta feel like the name should have been changed once Emma joined up.

But, apart from that, the title is just a bit…un-poetic. I mean:

    A Land Without Magic

    …And Straight On Till Morning

    There’s No Place Like Home

    Operation Mongoose

One of these things does not sound like the other…(but I get the WHY the title is this. Just feels there is another better name out there that would work well)

Just did a quick google and found that hawks and eagles can also be predators of cobras. How much better does “Operation Eagle” sound.

For me it’s less the title itself, but more so the fact that both 421 and 422 will have the same title, aside from the Part 1/Part 2 deviation between the two. Even though 321 and 322 were written with a 2 hour finale in mind, they were still given their own distinct episode titles with “Snow Drifts” and “There’s No Place Like Home.” The “Part 1/Part 2” thing made more sense with Smash the Mirror, as that was a weird case where they expanded it into 2 hours, but it was still all 408. But now Operation Mongoose Parts 1 and 2 are being produced under two distinct production codes. Way to confuse all the episode lists even more!
