Edit: now that I look at it it was the other article was the one that included that picture, didn’t zoom in for the text til I saw this but it still somewhat applies here because of the Neverland mentions in the articles so something to add to the excitement regarding Neverland that is talked about here too! (Guess I was kinda focused on a smiling Hook being nice to young Bae…couldn’t help it).

Also, poor Bae has been through so much (did I mention how much I adore Dylan / young Bae??) but even though he looks sad / confused / scared at least Hook looks like he’s being nice and welcoming! 🙂
I’m telling you, things didn’t add up with the way Hook spoke of the Lost Boys on the trip up the beanstalk. I don’t think they were always at odds or perhaps he once was one himself, but there’s definitely a twist coming up somewhere and I for one am thrilled to see that smile and kindness toward young Bae, at least upon his arrival. Looking forward to seeing how their relationship changed over the years to get to what we have now, but I’m not sure it’s as heated as people want to think it is, at least maybe not until Hook discovers whose kid he is or something maybe.

Yes, I think we are going to see that Hook was a bit of a father figure to Bae (and the rest of the Lost Boys). But I think something happened that soured their relationship which caused Bae to leave NL.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"It wouldn’t surprise me if over time Hook discovered who Bae was and then pumped him for information and then maybe Bae overheard him wanting to go after Rumple and feeling used. We know Bae was furious with his father and trying to avoid him but we also saw when push came to shove that NealFire protected him. I could see how having another father-figure abandon him could come into play.
I just hope that their relationship is good for a long time. I like the idea that it might last awhile and then when things soured that’s when he left NL…it can’t have been TOO long ago, he had a lot of time to spend in NL but they may have started out close, became enemies, and then eventually he got out.

Hmmm. I’m torn on this. It would explain how Hook knew (though it also seems like the Dark One’s dagger is the worst kept secret in any land). But would Bae really betray Rumple that way? We know Bae loved his papa even though he’s super angry, this was demonstrated by Neal when Rumple was stabbed by Hook. So unless Bae felt like he could trust Hook enough to tell him, and then Hook used that information, I’m not sure. Unless that is how it played out:
1) Hook and Bae become very close
2) Bae tells Hook about the dagger
3) Hook leaves for FTL to kill Rumple

I had assumed, perhaps erroneously, that Hook learned about the dagger from Cora. He came back from NL to the EF to interrogate Belle, who said she didn’t know how to kill Rumplestiltskin, nor would she if she did. That’s when Regina hired Hook to assassinate her mother, but he sided with Cora instead.

He knows about something…but we don’t know if it’s the dagger.
